I am correct that doing something stupid is not a crime, but some stupid actions are crimes.

What the trumppers are doing here is trying to diminish the victim and justify the government taking lives due to stupidity. I understand your point. I think its being used to diminish those the officers have shot.

I was simply asking your opinion.

You should look for the victims arms and where they are, his nonviolent actions while trying to protect the other victim. The biggest part is the officer pulling a gun out of the scrum and taking it away from the situation a moment before they killed the guy.

He never reached for his gun, not once. It appears he was disarmed moments before the shooting started.

Pretti was violent before violently resisting arrest, and then he reached for his loaded gun to shoot some ICE officers, but nobody was aware that his gun had fortunately been removed a split-second prior.

I heard that, not sure the sequence when it was first shouted. But "Gun" does not justify killing.

The NYT reports the guy's hands were penned down next to his head when the first shot was fired.

Why are you lying by trying to diminish this?

It was certainly not just 15 people. As the Capital was breached you can hear dozens, if not a hundred or more crying to Hang Mike Pence, and once in the Capital you still hear it but you also hear cries to get Nancy Pelosi as well.

Certainly security details are made aware those two, especially, are very much targets of a violent mob.

And it was not like Ashley crawled thru an already broken window. It took quite a bit of violence by a person using a helmet to smash it violently to finally breech it in a way Ashley could then get thru.

YOu need to get over your reflex of trying to diminish it as you do above.

However, when it was shouted and the perspective of the officer can make it so a reasonable officer may believe that there is a threat even if in hindsight we "know" there was not (I am giving benefit of the doubt here, there are folks out there with frame by frames that they say appears to show a gun in his hand)...

It is very clear he had a cell phone in his hand. NYT says his hands were pinned down by his head when he was shot.

Someone shouting "gun" does not justify lethal force. Guns are legal.

There is nothing in the video evidence that shows him being stupid.

He is keeping distance from both the protester and ICE while simply using his cell phone to capture events.

He sees a protester (a woman) shoved to the ground in a very violent way, and he seeks to help her up and see if she is ok, as a nurse (especially a VA Nurse) would do.

He is then violently assaulted by ICE who pile on him in a way that is going to trigger almost anyone to try and fight to get some space and to breath, ala George Floyd killing.
