Federal judge rules 'QAnon shaman' too dangerous to be released from jail

"The court finds that no condition or combination of conditions of release will reasonably assure defendant's appearance as required [in court] or the safety of others and the community," Lamberth ruled.

"Defendant characterizes himself as a peaceful person who was welcomed into the Capitol building on January 6th by police officers. The Court finds none of his many attempts to manipulate the evidence and minimize the seriousness of his actions persuasive," the judge continued.

Chansley faces multiple charges stemming from the Jan. 6 assault, including violent entry and obstruction of an official proceeding. He was one of the most well-known supporters of the QAnon conspiracy to appear at the Capitol that day and allegedly left a note for former Vice President Mike Pence vowing "justice" if the election results were not overturned.

Compare this with what BLM/ANTIFA does but usually cant get arrested for violence or trespass, and when they are they are almost never charged.

Our Justice System is now fully corrupt, its purpose is not justice, it is a tool for power, for the exercise of sadism too.

If only this guy were an illegal immigrant - they'd release him in a heartbeat.

And if he were a demented rapist, the Democrats would elect him president.

It almost looks like they want to destroy America dont it...........that this is the feature not a bug.

It will be interesting to see what kind of sentence they can wring out of ‘violent entry’ and ‘obstructing an official proceeding’ lol. Probably considerably less than an insurrection conviction. Will ‘violent entry’ into private businesses carry a similar sentence going forward? I doubt it.

I have no sympathy for the pagan shaman but he’s being used for political purposes.

His life is being destroyed for political purposes.

And that is no longer rare.

How intelligent -- join in an insurrection, break into a heavily-guarded, locked building, assault officers -- and leave a threatening note. Real smart, Jethro.

But for some reason they aren’t charging him with insurrection lol.

Are you using the term in a colloquial sense?

Maybe the QAnon Shaman should be in an institution for the mentally ill; he's definitely not living on planet earth.

Probably so. They don't usually involuntarily institutionalize ppl unless they are a danger to themselves or to others. This guy seems to fit the latter criteria.

Two months and nearly 300 Capitol riot arrests later, FBI is hunting hundreds more

And they’ve arrested almost 300. But as many as 500 remain at large of the 800 who Capitol Police believe entered the Capitol. The riot claimed five lives and cost millions in damage and cleanup in the historic building.

Those guys are fuuuuuuuucked.

The fact Trump betrayed all of them by not handing out pardons is the funniest part of the whole mess.

Is "insurrection" an actual crime? I don't know. Either way, this guy ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.
