Federal Agents Spray Tear Gas at Protesters, Children During ICE Raids at California Farms | Common Dreams

It's not "my argument." It's what ICE, the company that owns the farm, and the MSM are saying. It's your argument that falls apart. You have offered no counterproof on anything.
The company that owns the farm, which you claim is the Mexican cartel, but turned out to be a publicly traded company?

No, I claimed could possibly be connected to a Mexican cartel. Learn to read. Also, what is to stop a cartel from buying stock or having an influence on a corporation, publicly traded or not?

Do you realize how much smaller a Mexican cartel is than the entire stock market... Your claims are farfetched.

But back to your claim that laws do not apply on islands... How big does the island have to be? I mean North America is a continent sized island.

Do you realize that operatives for the Mexican cartels remit billions of dollars back to Mexico from the US every year?

And the cartels aren't the only ones

So what you are saying is that trump is probably an agent of Mexican cartels?

But what does that have to do with raping children on a private island? And why would that be legal?

You claimed that somehow Epstein's island, which is US territory in the US Virgin Islands, is not bound by US law. Does private property need to be surrounded by water to be exempt from laws?
That has NOTHING to do with this thread. What kind of insane, delusional, imbecile are you? Trying to change the subject won't work.

ICE raided an potentially illegal marijuana growing operation in California that was using child labor, illegals, and potentially had ties to criminal organizations like the Mexican cartels. They found 9 to 14 child workers and arrested over 200 illegal aliens illegally employed on the farming operation. Even if the children's parents were present, or they could somehow be allowed to work, they were working on an operation that grew marijuana a 18+ product. It'd be like having child laborers at a distillery or brewery.

It is July. In America, most schools are closed in July. That leaves parents to bring their children where ever they like. Most older kids get jobs. Poorer, rural, older kids work in agriculture.

No, it is not. Have you ever been to a McDonald's? They employ child labor and it is perfectly legal.

In agriculture, there are specific exceptions to allow more, and younger child labor.
It's notable that trumptards in red states are removing restrictions against children working:

Children work in stores that sell cigarettes. They work in wineries. There is no law against them working in distilleries or breweries.

These are 17 year old children, they are allowed to work on farms.

Now here is a question for you: when they were hired, were the legally allowed to work? If trump possibly cancelled their visas, then the farm is guilty of absolutely nothing, except maybe marijuana.

Bullshit!

The youngest found on that marijuana farm was 14.
Now here is a question for you: when they were hired, were the legally allowed to work?

Most likely not. If you are in the US illegally, you almost always cannot obtain employment legally.
If trump possibly cancelled their visas, then the farm is guilty of absolutely nothing, except maybe marijuana.
They didn't have visas, or they wouldn't be in the US illegally. If they were working using stolen identification, or they used false ID, they are guilty of two felonies right there. If the employer knowingly hired them illegally, the employer is guilty of a felony too.

Having over 200 illegals working on a farm means the certainty is very close to 100% that the above is true and there are plenty of felonies to go around.

Bullshit!
I really do not know what the laws are in Canada. I would thank you for your link on Canadian laws, but I really do not care what the laws are in Canada.

Again, you cannot find anything about farm work. I worked on a vineyard briefly as a minor, and there did not seem to be any problem with that.

They didn't have visas, or they wouldn't be in the US illegally.
We have always had visa overstays, so people who had visas, but now do not have legal rights to stay in America. Now we are seeing massive visa canceling. It might be 3 million visas that have or will be cancelled. That would be 3 million people who a few months ago would have been completely legal to hire, but now cannot be hired. trump is rounding them up.

So Glass House might be right when they say they only hired people legally allowed to work. The people were legally allowed to work when they were hired, and did not have an immediate cancellation date to their visas. Had trump not changed the situation, they would be completely legal to hire today.

There really is not much in the law for what an employer is supposed to do in this situation. Most smaller employers like Glass House would not even know it had happened. Walmart is continuing to employ the immigrants. Amazon is suspending the immigrants.

Having over 200 illegals working on a farm means the certainty is very close to 100% that the above is true and there are plenty of felonies to go around.
Asylum seekers were legally allowed to work here, but not allowed to get most welfare benefits. This meant they worked hard, and were willing to work at low paying jobs. Many had experience in agriculture.

A huge group of legal farm workers are now somewhat illegal.

Trump is talking about a huge amount of money going to ICE. He wants to expand it bigly. His desires are not commensurate with what the Trumpys here are saying.
Agreed. Anyone who thinks this domestic army and multiple isolated “detention” camps is only temporary is a fucking moron. Idiots who can’t see past their next retirement check.

What happens when all the illegals are deported? Does Trump just fire all the ICE agents, close the camps and phase down ICE? Again, only the idiots think that is going to happen.

One thing that the Pigshit Administration has revealed
is that our Constitution is woefully inadequate
to enable repair of the republic
when it's this seriously damaged.

It's simply not the comprehensive document that "true believers" want to think that it is.

America, under its current Constitution, is now probably too far gone to salvage.

I think our nation may have to be disincorporated
so smaller, less ideologically diverse new nations may be incorporated in its place.
This is what has happened relatively recently to Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and the USSR,
and now it's probably our turn.

Those new nations will have to draft constitutions with an improved acuity
one would expect after a quarter millennium of experience.

All the rules and laws in the world don’t matter if they are not enforced. The Constitution is a great document but Congress has increasingly failed to enforce it for over 3 decades.

I've said this one before, but I think it's so very on point to what you're saying:
"Law always chooses sides on the basis of enforcement power. Morality and legal niceties have little to do with it when the real question is: Who has the clout?"

-Frank Herbert, in one of his Dune novels.

Unfortunately when it comes to U.S. immigration issues, Trump and his Administration have a lot of clout right now.

ICE is Trump's Gestapo. They will do whatever he wants, no matter how abusive or immoral it is. Now, Trump is moving money to make it grow.
