Fears mount on the deplorable dirty's 'rigged election' rhetoric

My point is being objective is difficult enough without being monetarily invested in the outcome to an election.

It would never occur to me to do that if I were a journalist.

There are motivators higher than money....

No it prob would not occur to you to overtly do that, you wouldn't need to, it would flow naturally....

As has been mentioned in this thread & countless others we have innate abilities to comprehend & decipher information & reach conclusions....

If you come to conclude everything hillary says is a lie can you then honestly report somethings she says in a different light?? :dunno:

Not everyone processes info the same, even those that do can come to different conclusions & or communicate it differently..

you know what is (supposedly) the difference between hard news and "angles" ( slant). Why is that acceptable?
because we're inured to the breakdown of the 4th estate into yet another partisan agenda?

I have a problem with thousands of (internet) sources, and none of them posting news. 'newz' isn't news.

If there was an attempt at investigative reporting -how far would it get? ( nowhere) -which means government can operate
in secrecy and without accountability.

It's a sad day when we have to look for Wiki to provide accountability/transparencey

It is really hard to not end up w/ some slant, but one way is to read/listen to those w/ no skin in the game. There are a few great ones in the UK, France etc..

If possible, listening to a few good opposing views (as you would find here) you can usually decipher & come to your own conclusions.. :dunno:

I think we both would agree that it's ok for others to come to different conclusions & have differing views than our own....

agree multi-sourcing is the key...what about people who only get news without that?

I mean Walter Cronkite was a leftist -but he was also a professional newscaster first.

I dunno.. I get my news from various sources-none of which requires a tv....

I use to hear him put up as a good example, not so much any more....

I think we could see, define what is & is not slant & put him to the test....

Maybe it's anecdotal, but I just scrolled through my Twitter feed [news/sports oriented] and very nearly all of it was negative stories on Trump. And not a single negative story on Hillary.

I'm astounded [or maybe I should learn not to be] by the lack of concern over so many journalists having skin in the game. And it's way lopsided, to boot.

What's the analogy. Ball players betting against their team?

You know what? It's like Annata said: Julian Assange provides a service. He's doing what the media is suppose to be doing but aren't.

You don't care who 'journalists' donate to in a campaign as long as the democrat is getting 96% of the money lol. The money is less important than the fact such a ideological disparity exists.

But as long as it's against Trump it's ok.

You think "journalists" at Breitbart, Daily Caller, WorldNutDaily, Newsmax, Washington Times etc. are donating to Democrats?

we are way past angles and slant already. We are at the point where major outlets are submitting articles to the DNC/clinton campaign before printing for correction and approval.

Really? Cite.

the bias is incredible , to the point there isn't any distance between the Clinton campaign, and major newspapers like WaPO & NYTimes.

What kind of press is this? These aren't some small time papers.

Has it ever occurred to you neo-commies that everything Trump does that makes you wet your pants is just a little thing we used to call "fighting back"? You're just not used to seeing a republican do it(and most of the establishment GOP wouldn't even try it these days)I hope he throws the mother of all hissy fits if he loses, and sues as many crooked election officials as he can round up.

And who are these "people" that believe the election is rigged?

The claims of election "rigging" only highlight the increasing desperation from the Trump camp.

As Trumpkins see their chances of victory dwindling by the day, they ratchet up their rhetoric.

thousands of tampered forms were discovered, neither office spokeswoman Valerie Warycha nor State Police would reveal precisely how many. Warycha said a number of registration forms each election are changed by voters themselves to provide updated information. In addition, government employees make a certain number of data entry errors. But she said the number of changed registrations this year was much higher than in past elections, which led officials to believe fraud was being committed.

Hillary must be scared .... the Dem cheat machine is in hyperdrive this election....

Oh my, "officials"..

I thought gubment officials were the enemy?? The bad guys?? WTF is going on here??

Perhaps another "official" may shed some light??

However, a leading election official in Hamilton County, also a Republican, said labeling the discrepancies as fraud was a hasty conclusion.
In Hamilton County, Republican elections administrator Kathy Richardson said she had not received any complaints and said she was miffed how Lawson concluded so quickly that the alleged anomalies might be fraud.

Craig Varoga, president of Patriot Majority USA, accused Gov. Mike Pence last week of using the State Police to suppress Indiana voters and violate their constitutional rights. And the group recently launched radio ads on black-oriented stations and placed ads in black newspapers across the state Saturday, accusing the governor and Republican vice presidential nominee of voter suppression.

"In 2014 Connie Lawson was publicly forced to admit that 1 in 8 voters in the Secretary of State's registration lists had inaccurate information," he said in an email. "Instead of fixing the problem, now she is blaming the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, online registration and others for her gross incompetence."

Imagine if Trump was caught doing that lol.

Then there's this gem:

In an April 30, 2015 email, released Monday by WikiLeaks, Politico’s chief political correspondent Glenn Thrush asked John Podesta to approve his writing pre-publication. Thrush begged Podesta not to tell anyone he had shared the copy and referred to himself as “a hack” in the email exchange.

“No worries Because I have become a hack I will send u the whole section that pertains to u,” Thrush wrote to Podesta. “Please don’t share or tell anyone I did this Tell me if I fucked up anything.”
