He told her, "don't even go there, I volunteered to say this."

Dr. Fauci says at today’s WH Covid 19 briefing that the first and only time he recommended strong mitigation, the president accepted the recommendation. And he said when he recommended the mitigation be extended an extra 30 days, the president accepted that too.

Apparently, Fauci said it. I’d be very surprised if Hume made it up or mischaracterized him.
When this all started a few days ago it was because once again the media led the story with misleading headlines. They then followed up by Parsing Fauci's words and selectively editing them in such a way as to make it look like he was blaming Trump. Which he clearly was not. Watching the entire interview shows how badly the media chopped it up to advance an anti Trump narrative. FAKE NEWS at its finest.

I had no comment since I was waiting for the inevitable truth to come out.
Listening to Patriot radio early this morning on my 1 hour 45 minute commute one of the callers brought up an interesting point. He was a former CEO of a company that hires a lot of PhDs and other brainy types. He said that these types, almost all of them, cannot make a decision unless that have a perfect data set. For instance if only 80% of the data is available they can't do a thing. I've known a lot of people like that and find it infuriating.
