Fatal shooting at Denver screening of The Dark Knight Rises

Is this such a normal occurrence that it goes without comment?

this is kind of funny... given how long this thread has gone on at this point. Poor Tom didn't even give us a chance to wake up and see the news, whining that no one was commenting. I wonder... is Tom happy about the number of comments now?

So it has taken you up to now to wake up??

You just know that's what the STY JPP Crazyeyes contingent are doing right? They're neutralizing watermelons! Almost every night! This is how these delusional fools end up dead! They take on so many watermelons they forget that ATF agents shoot back!

LMAO

The bottom line I see here is that somehow liberals believe that just the act of owning a gun, or guns makes one a "nut"... The fact that a large base of legal gun ownership reduces crime of all kinds in any given area is to be ignored ... The fact that no one is forced to buy a gun in this country unless they want to, unlike say such admired countries like, oh say, Switzerland, where every adult male MUST own a gun, and gun crime is nearly non existent ...

I am coming to the conclusion that liberals don't think that law abiding citizens should be allowed to do anything they don't approve of, which btw, is an anathema in a free country.

Why don't libs just mind their own damned business, and stop trying to dictate my life? I am convinced that they can't, but God forbid that anyone try to tell them how to live, ie; gay marriage, abortion, religion, etc....

Are there always going to be individuals in this world bent on committing horrific crimes, taking lives? Yes, regardless of whether it is by gun, poison, knife, bat, or any number of implement, or substance.

But don't let that stop the knee jerks from thinking themselves good by enforcing their view on everyone whether you want it or not.

Some of my firearms are passed down from my grandfather and my father. Some are for small game hunting, some are for big game hunting, some are for hunting smaller birds (like quail), some are for bigger birds like wild turkey and some are for specific tyes of animals (the two of those I have are used to cut the population of invasive species that are doing grave harm). Some of my guns are for defense. I have one for defense and my wife has one for defense, especially when I am out of town working. And some are collectors items that are rarely fired, like limited editions or commemorative pieces. And still others are for shooting sports like skeet or target shooting.

This very much describes my 'current' collection. I have a muzzleloader that was my uncle's and one that was my dad's as well as an old Westernfield 410 pump that was my dad's. All three of these guns are hardly ever fired. I have guns for specific purposes or types of hunting and I have a few old military weapons that are never fired but are collectibles.

I have a 12 gauge pump, I have a .45 that shoots a 410 shell (called the Judge), and my wife has a .38 ... Both of us can shoot them proficiently, and are both CWP holders.

I have thought about starting to broaden my gun collection, but til now, there are other things on the list before I do that.

sorry, but if you disagree with Darla, you are hence forth a woman hater. She proclaims it, it is so. You must agree with Dearest little Darla on everything or you hate women. Similar to the Obama nuts proclaiming that any dissent from dear leader is due to racism.

It's not that you can't disagree with Darla at the onset of a discussion. But after all the time and effort she takes to school you guys, it behooves you to concede that she's right and you're wrong when the discussion is over.

Pick it apart all you want. The point is that the law is flawed, which is why nutjobs get guns that way. Doesn't matter why it was written that way or that the writing was deliberate. Nutjobs getting guns as a result wasn't their intention, yet that's what's happening. The intention was to prevent that - yet it does just the opposite. Loophole. Call it whatever you want to. That's what it is.

The loophole is that gun dealers can go to these shows as private citizens.

That's not my experience, I consider you to be far more intelligent and knowledgeable. Darla by contrast is intentionally divisive and polemically driven.

Can I just point out one thing? In those patriarchal societies were women drafted against their will to fight wars that they knew either little about or cared even less?

I think men have always had the idea women are useless in the military, at least in the US. We didn't get them until WWII, except for nurses.

gun dealers having a FFA must follow procedures regardless of whether they sell from their business, home, or show...Are there people that break that law? probably, but if caught they would go to jail...Using some anecdotal hypothetical in order to restrict all gun sales is ridiculous.

Can you really see landing craft full of women attacking Iwo Jima and more to the point would you really wanted to see that? Women were incredibly brave and invaluable for missions like parachuting into France as spies or transporting planes as part of the ATA or indeed as pilots in today's air forces. I have the utmost respect for what some of those women did in piloting planes, often without previous experience in the depths of winter. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must of been to climb into a heavy bomber like a Lancaster and fly it alone for hundred of miles using dead reckoning in fog. I am sure they would have been more than capable of flying bombing missions over Germany.
