at the current time, gangs of criminals have access to automatic firearms through illegal markets. Now, 95% of the time, those weapons are brought to bear against other gangs and drug dealers, but on occasion they are used against decent people. why should they be held to a disadvantage in arms simply because the odds dictate that they might never be a victim?

ONLY if you and I, along with neighbors, friends, and family, decide to be untrusting of others and isolate ourselves. As a unit, we are much more effective....making resistance NOT futile.

:0) I value me life and the lives of everybody around me as much as anyone. Security is on the top of my list of things that I believe every head of the household should have on the top of their list of things that must be done and considered.

My position on the proliferation of guns, and thus the proliferation of senseless gun violence, has nothing whatsoever to do with any disregard for safety or life. In fact, I have more regard for the santity of life than most.

We share the same trait for life good brother .. where we differ is in the level of paranoia. I searched for a better word .. but from my perspective, there is no better word than paranoia.

I grew up in Detroit .. and I've lived in urban environments all my life because I like mixed communities and the rythym of urban life .. and I've lived in various places all over the country. I've never owned a gun .. never lived in fear. That doesn't mean that dangerous things didn't sometimes happen. It means that I believe my mind .. and a well-trained dog :0) are all the protection I have or will ever need.

Study Isshinryu. It teaches you to step into fear. You'll find the most fearful moments reside outside of what you fear.

That being said, I recognize that most people are not spiritual, thus, don't have the protections of those who are.

All I ask are reasonable solutions to that which makes America appear a failed and violent nation.

America is loaded with guns .. and the solution is more guns .. even more dangerous guns are the answer?

A. Take the profit out of drugs and the criminals will go away just as fast as you can say "prohibition."

B. Fear of criminal gangs and drug dealers sounds like paranoia to me. I'm betting that you don't live where drug gangs hang out.

C. You can never out-gun criminals, but surely you can reasonably defend yourself without an automatic weapon with a clip until the police arrive.

Anything else is a scene out of a Steven Segal movie .. not a snap-shot of real life for 99 and 44/100% of America.

Bottom line BAC is that it is not up to you, it is not up to Rana, it is not up to Bijou, to decide for me what I do with my constitutional right to own guns. I could really give a crap less if you don't want a gun, and would never force you to buy one. But yet, you feel it necessary to subject me to your whims....It is a protected right given me through my constitution, and upheld by the SCOTUS. So what every you understand, or don't understand is of no consequence to me.

gun shows are not illegal markets. there is no federal law regulating private sales in or out of a gun show. neither is it a loophole. if you can't discuss things in a factual manner, we'll just call your points hyperbole and emotionalism.

Are you telling me illegal activity doesn't go on at gun shows? BS. How 'bout that guy lurking around trying to save the gun buyer a little tax with no background check?

It is a loophole, and a huge one. Here in Florida, a background check isn't required at the gun show if the seller isn't registered. Solution: Hire Joe Blow off the street to sell your guns!

it is not a loophole. do you know why private persons are allowed to sell their privately owned guns at gun shows?
