Fatal shooting at Denver screening of The Dark Knight Rises

If you go out and purposely purchase a device for killing people and animals, if you then purchase ammunition with which to complete the process, if you are so paranoid that you think someone is out to kill you, if you parade these irrationalities in public ...
you do not deserve self preservation or even preservation by proxy.
tell us, moron, how many people are killed, raped, robbed, and assaulted on a daily basis? based on that information alone, ANYONE can be a crime victim, so you're a total douchebag retard for even suggesting that people adopt the herd mentality and accuse people of bullshit paranoia just because you're a little fucking gun coward.

Best thing you can do, my poor irrationally chicken friend, is to go live outside America. You'll be much happier.

You can't see it but there are just under 100,000 people , in this country, that are shot every year. The USA has 15x the gun violence of any developed country. Either we are collectively insane or we need to make some rational changes. It strikes me as odd that the same people that cling to their guns are often the same ones that espouse a hatred for our collective government and people. They are the same people that will prevent a woman from having access to healthcare and blame the poor for everything they dislike. Antisocial behavior is an illness that is often expressed by these same people who really don't believe in a democratic society or the melting pot that is America, yet, they love to bray about how they are the 'true patriots', the true 'Americans'. I often get the feeling that they would gladly participate in another civil war so they could take full advantage of their hatred and violent natures. Being a socialized and rational human being I choose to address problems and work toward solutions that don't include violence, hate and force.

then we're left arguing about who is right in defining insane and rational. I consider people who want to ban guns or even further regulate them are insane.

and you strike me as delusional in regards to that. You generalize, therefore you fail.

more leftist generalization failure.

it's amazing just how deluded some people consider what America was and is supposed to be, when it's nowhere near what the founders own writings talk about.

I don't consider people that feel they must force their own quirks and emotional shortcomings on the rest of society as 'socialized' or rational.

So now hunters are included in the rants? lol

This is funny. People expressing outrage on why a family took their child to a move but don't see anything wrong with how a guy was able to buy combat gear, a gas mask, gas canisters, a bulletproof vest, a crotch protector, two glocks, and a semi-automatic rifle.

All this outrage o

So people shouldn't be able to buy a gas mask? Why would buying a bullet-proof vest be a crime? You would also outlaw crotch-protectors? And you want guns gone, and won't even allow women to have Mace to protect themselves?

Wow, you really are going off the deep end.

Well, in more civilised worlds than America, uncontrolled hunting of wild animals is regarded as unacceptable. Americans have their own standards, their own morals and their own ethics. They also are so fuckin arrogant that they think disapproval of cruelty and the killing of man or beast for sport or pleasure is a rant.
That's why you live there and most people don't. lol

Other than a couple of pest species, I know of no "uncontrolled hunting of wild animals". We have specific, and controlled seasons and bag limits for virtually all game species. In this country, civilized or not, the uncontrolled hunting of wild animals is also regarded as unacceptable.

I understand the disagreement with guns from the point of view of their uses in crimes and the high murder rates. But it is exceedingly rare that hunters are included in the arguments against gun ownership.

If my use of the word "rant" was inappropriate, I apologize. I was simply surprised at the inclusion of hunters.

And just to be clear, I am a hunter and fully support hunting as a means of financing the conservation efforts and controlling the populations of game animals, since the natural predators are long gone.

I am pleased to accept your apology. In a debate such as this one often strays from ones intended point. (at least I do). My major criticism, and it is one with which I doubt I will ever come to terms, is a mindset in which the solving of almost every problem seems to hinge on violence. Violence is violence whether it is the beating of a woman, the chastising of a child, the killing of a prisoner, the invasion of a country, the killing of innocents or the killing of wild animals. It is, to me, a mindset, a bloodlust, a hollywood driven, false macho way of life that I want nothing to do with.

I will agree on all but the hunting. Yes, there is violence, to a degree, in the killing part, but even that is minimalized as much as possible. The hunt involves much, much more than the shooting of the animal. But even if the shooting of the animal is isolated as the singular event, virtually every hunter I know strives to make the kill as quick as is possible. In fact, many guys I know hunt with bigger guns than they are comfortable with, for the simple reason that the think it will help with a one-shot instant kill.

Certainly it is far less painful and fearful than the death to a natural predator or starvation.

We have culling in the UK, one of the biggest problems currently is the huge deer population which cause many car accidents.
