'Fat troops' fallout continues as some Texas Guardsmen sent home over fitness concerns

That may be true.

My daughter is a NG Captain. She was Active Duty Army for her first two deployments in the ME. She recently, after her 3rd remote, solo, year long deployment, in a war torn African Nation, and then went through an extremely bitter divorce.

After the Divorce, she let herself go for a few months, and packed on 25lbs. She got orders, and lost it all, and passed her PT test ahead of all her male company members. She about killed herself doing it. Modern medicine helped, but it was extremely tough.

She is one tough soldier.

I hope she still has some relationship with her three teen kids, when she gets back.

Work / Service / Life balance is HARD.

NG members make a much larger sacrifice than most Active Duty people. They have to live in three worlds.

-

Bless her heart. I hope the best for her and her family.

Whatever, worm. Yet I knew who was who and you didn't, bitch.
You must come from a deep red southern state, where because of the fried Twinkies and fried chicken, all people are just expected to eventually have pot bellies and excessive blubber.

Your tangerine messiah is a fat anomaly in the presidential pantheon. And at least in reasonably healthy states, getting old does not have to mean getting fat.

National Guardsmen (and women) are citizens who work and live as such, unless the need to call on them arises. I believe they must attend training one weekend a month? What is ignored?

Most are "retired" after they complete their enlistment requirement. I don't know about the "health insurance."

My oldest brother was in the NG during the VN war years. Once a month they did weekend drills, and once a year spent six weeks at various U.S. forts. For him they were in Kansas, MN, Texas. He is 82 now and has never been overweight, nor did he get any kind of insurance benefits after his six years were up. I always thought it was funny that he said the only time in his life he ever held or fired a gun was in basic.

As for insurance benefits after he got out he maybe eligible to go to the VA.
NOT every vet can there are stipulations.
Like my self a war vet , I make too much money on my retirement and SS so I have to prove I may have been exposed to something like agent orange , when I do that I will be able to go to the VA Hospital here.

Lol....he's a very good player...:)
Apparently so. Then why the cheating? While we're at it, why the con? He's made a mastery of it "like no one ever before", as he would say. Who but Trump could make millions believe an election he lost by a wide margin was actually stolen from him, poor fella. It's a kind of tragedy, that mastery...for us and also him since it will haunt his legacy.

And you're not a spinster but happily married to a Black man so it's okay to tell racist jokes. You live in a large home in a neighborhood filled with wealthy Jews so you're not antisemitic. Except that there's never been any husband. No Jews live in that decaying urban region. You're really, really a teacher as you tell us every single day, despite the absence of evidence, i.e., credentials. And to sum up, you're one of the "better people" here, and you never toke, never drink, cuss, chase after married men like Hawkeye10, and are positively NOT a bigot or racist. And you're nice!

How'd I do? lol

Meal team 6, bloated whiteys squad

Some Texas National Guard soldiers deployed to Chicago have been sent home for failing to meet fitness standards after an ABC News photo of heavyset troops went viral.

"A small group" of the 200 National Guard soldiers sent to Illinois last week have been replaced for not being "in compliance" with its validation process, the Texas Military Department confirmed to military news site Task & Purpose over the weekend.
