Family of Ashli Babbitt sues to get name of cop who killed their daughter on Jan 6

Wow. All of the sudden all the "guns" disappeared. Hmmmmmm.

The ‘they might have been armed’ theory doesn’t really hold up. If no weapons were used or apparent by the time the rioters got near the chamber room—there was more than ample reason to suspect they didn’t have any.

And to kick the lack of security horse again: rioters don’t typically carry [shooting] weapons. There’s plenty of reason to suspect the rioters didn’t anticipate they’d have access to inside the building. Why would they have any reason to think they would? Given the circumstances, it should have been locked down tight.

Notice how that explains the lack of any sedition charges: these people weren’t prepared for an insurrection—they didn’t anticipate anything beyond a riot *outside* the Capitol. But once it became apparent they were able to get inside—it became the Capitol riot and the majority of charges are destruction of property and disrupting an official proceeding.

Darth is minimizing 1/6 in 3...2...1 lol. Darth is a 1/6 realist.

More than likely a ricochet. Best case scenario of that would have been he took out a democrat or something. Hehehehehe....

Oh brother. ;)

Anyway, she was up there above other people, so there was no danger to others He had to aim higher at her.

You are absolutely right. democrats are going to keep beating this dead horse. It keeps the media and everyone elses attention away from their incompetence in this entire matter and Biden in general. For a little while anyway.

What the mob had in mind? They had working gallows, stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats etc., not to mention zip-tie handcuffs.
Yes. We knew that because we saw it happening live. Those who were in the chamber had no idea what the hell was going on. I'm sure they assumed the absolute worst.

Yeah that unruly crowd trying to break down doors to try to enter is pretty safe.

Ever seen a cattle stampede? Think of Q Shaman as the leader.

That has nothing to do with their use of force policy. And as far as who was confused about who was a cop there? The guy that murdered Ashli was in plain clothes. No badges, nothing. In addition it does not matter if they had any intention of standing down. The LEO did not follow use of force policy. He did not identity himself, he did not command her to halt or stop. The chickenshit just hid behind a door and murdered her.
Actually, he was not hiding. He was the last line of defense between our lawmakers, and the mob.

Moot point. This discussion is nonsense.

At that point in the Insurrection, I'm confident all had been properly warned. ;)

The facts remain Babbitt was part of an Insurrection seeking to breakthrough a final blocked door of DCPD personnel protecting Congressional staff. Shooting one of the Insurrectionists is the next level of warning. Frankly, I would have emptied the magazine into 15 different targets at that point and have been justified to do so. If anything, the DCPD showed amazing restraint.
At the time, I questioned why they didn't mow down a few hundred of the criminals as well. They did show restraint, and probably made the right decision. I'm sure there were quite a few weapons in that crowd, and it could have escalated.

In a kangaroo court you mean. Just what democrats are turning this into. If he guy has nothing to hide and feels he was justified there should be no reason he should be afraid of going to court.
What about the guy who was shot in the back for getting into his car?

Wow. All of the sudden all the "guns" disappeared. Hmmmmmm.

A good point. How do you explain that? IMO, had the Insurrection worked, the guns would have come out, but if they tried to shoot their way in, then every Guard and military unit in range would have gone to the Capitol and taken them down.....and they would have emptied their magazines against the Insurrectionists just like I would have. LOL

He was not the last line of defense. There were others. And I am sure ones better trained. And what Mob? The other Capitol police did not show any fear around them at all. No guns drawn. Nothing.

A jury may get to decide that yet if Babbit’s family is successful.

Moreover, if their lawyer is smart he will go after Congress for lack of security. With adequate security there never would have been a need to shoot Babbitt or anyone else.

Lack of security is the buried lede in 1/6.
Wow. That's nutty as hell, even for you.
