We all remember in 2008 how the media went after Sarah Palin's kids despite their claim that we should leave the family of candidates alone. Now they are attacking melania over plagiarism claims. Who cares about this non-issue? For 8 years they have refused to attack michelle even though she has stolen around $30 M from the american taxpayer with her vacations.
 
Typical political double standards. When people went after Michelle, the left was up on arms about a candidates family. Same with the right about Palin. But of course how quickly people forget the standards they set for others.
 
Generally they are off limits, not not when it's relating to a speech they voluntarily gave at a political convention! Not when they gave a plagiarized speech.

On top of that , I haven't seen anyone attack Mrs. Trump personally, it's all been about the inept campaign and speech writers!
 
First ladies, my friend, tend to like vacations. If that is 'stealing 30 million dollars from the taxpayers', then I think you need to revisit the constitution. It allows first ladies to take vacations. If it costs an arm and a leg, then that is what it costs. Do you think that it was extraordinary that Martha wanted a break from Mount Vernon? Do you think that any First Lady, liberal or conservative, could possibly want to be treated as a hostage in the white house? Did Dolly think that White House was a vacation?

Trolls here have been going it for a while and I've seen it elsewhere, but yeah, haven't seen too many here bashing her looks etc.

Irrelevant to the fact that someone bashed her personally and has made other comments about her looks and you of course say nothing because of who he is.

No, it is quite relevant, is it the truth or is it just an insult without any bases. Would Trump still be attracted and married to Melanie if she gained weight or lost her hair? See, real men love their wives no matter their physical appearance, what age or illness does to them. Trump is shallow, he would not love a woman who became unattractive to him, so he picks trophy wives. It is a sad fact, is there shame in being a beautiful woman who a shallow man needs to be on his arm? No, there isn't. I sure Melania knows the type of man her husband is and I bet she also understands that she must keep her looks to keep him. It is the choice she made, do you think she feels it is an insult to be a trophy wife?
 
If a first lady lies, its okay to comment on it.

If a first lady is unattractive its not okay to comment on it.

He didn't bash Trump over her looks, he bashed her personally. Whether Trump would leave her if she gained weight is another matter.

I don't know if she is offended, but she has certainly gone to great lengths to not be seen as just a trophy wife. Just so you know, you're approving of her just being a status symbol and nothing more. I am was wrong about you not having double standards.

Why do you constantly defend him when there is no defense?

She is not attractive to me, but I understand many men like that look. That is simply a fact, its not a value judgement on her. I don't have a problem with such a comment, especially when she had a career as a model. I also think comments on the fact that she has posed nude are fair game, she put that into the public arena.

Absolutely she is 100% a trophy wife. I thought that was something people bragged about? Or was that just iceslut? I don't know, I can't keep track of what's considered an insult or not. But yeah, Melania Trump definies "trophy wife". Hey, not an insult, she did well for herself for an immigrant who after decades in this country can still barely speak our language. Kudos.
