I'm slowly weaning my older brother off Fox and RW propaganda. We don't talk politics much mostly because there's more interesting things to talk about. But he does fly RW garbage by me nearly every time we chat. I get the feeling that he is skeptical of what he's heard and wants a 2nd opinion. Unfortunately he is even more visually-impaired than I am so can't do his own fact checking.
Recently he informed me that banks were "going after Trump supporters" by canceling their bank accounts. He heard it on one of the idiotic Fox talking fathead shows. I just chuckled and asked him "How would a bank know who you voted for?" Besides, they are always trying to attract new customers, not repel existing ones. Yesterday he said he heard that ICE was in Minneapolis because the city is refusing to release undocumented (which he referred to, of course, as "illegals") suspected criminals from jail. Not prison. Jail. I told him that in general non-adjudicated prisoners are never released to another law enforcement entity till they have had their day in court. Doesn't matter if it's a guy in there for alleged rape and another state wants him to stand trial there for another rape, or what. He seems to be coming to the conclusion that Fox just tells viewers the crap they want them to believe whether it's true or not.
I don't think most of our MAGATy friends here are unable to do fact-checking due to vision issues. Therefore we can conclude that they PREFER lies, bullshit, and propaganda over reality and truth. Disgusting, deplorable, garbage. As DU says, "sad."
