FACT CHECK: Islam already lives near ground zero

Neither do Mormons, and some Evangelical Christians, as well as the Jehovah Witness. They are encourage not to read any literature other than church sanctioned literature.

There are different sects of Islam, just like Christianity and Judaism. Conservative, liberal and moderate, zealot.

Who feds you the crap you ingest and actually believe/
Romney is a Morman, Harry Reid is Morman, the Osmonds were Mormans,
Jimmy Carter was a born-again Christan, so was George Forman and I could go on....
How about Jehovahs..Serena and Venus Williams..Ida Eisenhower Mother of Ike....did you just come out from under a rock? Do you imagine all this folks as stupid and below you....???

I have woman I worked with, and did PTA with and they didn't draw you into the inner circle unless your were of their faith. It is the way it is, and they even do it to family members who are not of their kind. They are very cliquish. I have a brother who lives in Salt Lake, a sister who lives in Boise. Their families have witnessed it first hand. If they are temple Mormons, they do not "hang" with you, unless they are trying to convert you, if you don't convert, they eventually turn "cool" towards you. They are still neighborly, but from a distance.

Yes, but Mormons, some Evangelical Christians, as well as the Jehovah Witness, don't want to kill me.

I realize this fact doesn't mean the same to you as it does to me.

They're everywhere around my city.

I have a mosque about a mile away from me, and I hardley ever see any of them there.

This seems to be the case at other locations as well.

If you ask me, they're trying to grab up all the land they can buy.

I've also noticed that they don't associate with anyone outside their faith.

They have an Islamic Center a few miles away from where I live, and I've visited there. They have ladies' fitness classes, food bank collections, youth groups and Arabic language classes, among other activities.

This group not only associates with others outside the faith, they're active in outreach and ecumenical programs here. Maybe Texans are less friendly than Pennsylvanians to the Muslim community.

I think your comment that "they're trying to grab up all the land they can buy" is based on fear.

do you have a link to the sept. 11 dedication, because that speaks volumes....if true

other than that...how many churches are in NY? do you call them redundant? there is a correlation with the pentagon....a plane flew in there, why is it there is no issue with a muslims place to pray there?

so if a religion wants to build a church and its negative to most people....then that religion should not be able to build a church?

Sometimes misidentified as the "Pentagon Mosque," the non-denominational Pentagon Memorial Chapel maintained by the Pentagon Chaplain's Office is where department employees who practice Islam can meet to pray.

Located at the site where the hijacked American Airlines flight 77 struck the Defense Department headquarters, the chapel honors the memory of the 184 victims of the 9/11 attack.

Plans are under way for a Muslim house of worship, topped by a 13-story cultural center with a swimming pool, in a building damaged by the fuselage of a jet flown by extremists into the World Trade Center.

The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city's heart.

She's not stupid at all. I know some JWs and some Mormons, and the JWs especially can be very hostile about other religions. Some of my in-laws are JWs and I've heard their comments firsthand. My husband and I have a friend who's a JW and he was shunned because of something he did that would be inconsequential in any other religion. You think Muslims are extremists, yet what kind of religion would have you shun your own family if you didn't toe their line.

You don't know the private side of Romney, Reid, the Osmonds, etc. to comment with any certainty on how they practice their faith.

Really, you are lucky, some would like to see me and my kind done in with! I guess you are one of those what agree with their tenets. There are some very violent sects in the USA. There have been crimes against Muslims that have not been reported as widely on national news. Mosques have been bombed here and I never heard of it until recently. I wonder why that is?

At one time in history all religions have used violence to promote their agenda and when you talk to the American Indians or recently the Eskimo and Indian of Alaska, well, some times it just got ugly!

There are groups of Christians that would take away a lot of my rights that I currently have if they had control of our government.

I feel it isn't Just the Muslims but all religions that can at times gain too much power in society and use that power to promote hate.

It is why the FF wanted church and state separated. When the two become bedfellows it is never good for those who are "different"

Most Muslims don't want to kill you either, but that is just my opinion. Do I want Wahabi Muslims running my country, not really, do I want Fred Phelps running my country, not really, do I want Jerry Prevo running my country, not really or Billy Graham or Rabbi Yosef Elizur-Hershkowitz running my country, not really. Do I want any religion running my country, not really. I want secular laws. I think neutrality is the best. I think people who focus on the here and now and not some eternal reward are better for us, here and now. It is just the way I feel.

People are free to worship how they feel, but they need to keep it off my government!

Muslims don't want to kill you, either. Muslims just want the U.S. to stay out of their business and not try to impose American standards on their cultures and governments.

Based on my exp,,, I think you're wrong.

Go figure that.

There is an estimated 5-8 million Muslims in the USA. I would think there would be a lot more of us dead if they all wanted to kill us. I am just guessing.

Right Christie, and you and Obama want to do everything in your power to allow these thugs and monsters to continue keeping their people enslaved. After all, it's no skin off our nose if they cut the noses off their women! Who are we to tell them who to stone to death? Right?

And? How many Christians or Jews do you see at their houses of worship, except on Saturdays or Sundays?

This seems to be the case at other locations as well.

So you don't really know, you're just guessing.

If you ask me, they're trying to grab up all the land they can buy.

And if I ask you, you'll give an opinion, unless you have some factual data from local real estate records (which are public) to support your comment.

I've also noticed that they don't associate with anyone outside their faith.

If you hardly ever see them, how do you know who they associate with? For that matter, how can you even tell a Muslim from a non-Muslim? Are they wearing scarlet "M"s? :pke:

I want our own home-grown thugs, monsters, spousal and child abusers, murderers, rapists, drunk drivers, etc. taken care of first and we're not doing too great with them.

If you're a non convert, muslims want to kill you christiefan915. Not all, but a number that only time will tell.

Their women get about the same amount of rights as their cattle.

What about American feminists (who in this instance I happen to agree with) who want more rights and better treatment of women in Muslim societies? Should they just sit back and let their female 'sisters' be subjigated (sp) in Muslim societies so as to not offend male Muslims?

How?,,, Well, A lot of them own stores. Shop for food, and drive.

Oh, and the ladies can't drive cars, or go out in public without permission in some countries. What about these facts christiefan915?

The fact is we're talking about Muslims in our country, and those women can drive or go out in public if they like.

I don't support any country stepping on anyone's rights, man or woman, but it's simplistic to imply this is only a Muslim problem.

I want our own home-grown thugs, monsters, spousal and child abusers, murderers, rapists, drunk drivers, etc. taken care of first and we're not doing too great with them.

Well we have a really good system of justice for that, with due process and everything! In countries ruled by Sharia, there is no system, just Sharia. You can't enter and appeal, you must accept the punishment dictated by the religious fanatics, usually stoning or dismemberment. Now granted, they don't have a lot of problems with most thugs, but they seem to have a little trouble prosecuting rapists. You see, under Sharia, there has to be at least 3 witnesses to the rape to convict, if there isn't, the woman who was raped is stoned to death for fornication. Sound like a lovely system to you? Well, it's what you are advocating, it's what you are supporting wholeheartedly here! It's what you, and the rest of your pinhead nitwit friends have jumped on the bandwagon to defend and protect! And whether you believe it or not, it's coming to America.

What about American feminists (who in this instance I happen to agree with) who want more rights and better treatment of women in Muslim societies? Should they just sit back and let their female 'sisters' be subjigated (sp) in Muslim societies so as to not offend male Muslims?

I stand with those feminists in wanting women everywhere to have the same rights men have, and that includes here in the U.S. of A.

You say "should [feminists] just sit back, etc.". I get email from feminist organizations all the time, and what they (we) do is write letters or send donations to try and help other women around the world. It's all we can do from a distance.

But put the shoe on the other foot. What about those individuals in Muslim societies who want less American influence (read: loose morals, excessive violence, no religious beliefs) on their society. Now I'm not saying those words paint a true picture of America, just that people in more conservative, paternalistic cultures think it's true. Even some people from enlightened countries think our streets run with blood from gun violence.

I guess I'm saying that we don't get the true picture of other societies and they don't get it of America, because news isn't news unless it's bad. So we all (and I'm not excluding myself) make judgments based on the limited information we get from the media, and sometimes that's not enough to form an honest opinion of others.
