I am willing to pay higher prices and/or higher taxes as long as they go to help balance our society's inequities. In the US, we have the highest disparity between the folks at the top and those at the bottom as any industrialized country. If we did nothing more that adjusting this, just a little, none of us would have to pay higher taxes OR higher prices. It's just that the very rich would not get even richer quite as fast.

Yep, all left wingers love saying "I would be happy to pay more taxes..........blah blah fucking blah". Yet you fuckers NEVER want to pay higher taxes. You could pay higher taxes right now just by forgoing all of the loopholes afforded you under the tax code. Yet you do not. Why? Because you obviously think you are taxed too much and you want to KEEP your money. Stop with the bullshit already. The only people you are fooling with that line are your fellow low information voters

That is not socialism or even communism. It's just a little bit of fairness and recognition of the people that contribute the LABOR.

I hope you reconsider. You are a fantastic poster. Too many good people leave because of the crazies here. We need to overcome them, if not by post quality, at least by numbers!

Does such a board exist? I would surmise it's doubtful. It's the passion of politics (you said something bad about someone I voted for and support? how dare you?! You might as well have attacked a family member of mine!) that does funny things to people.

This board has become too insular though I think. I am as guilty as anyone. I really don't debate much anymore, I make jokes, have fun, kick Superfreak around...a lot of it is very inside-jokey and cliquish. I mean the sniping between several board members that has become constant, is no big deal because you IA them, who cares? But the rest of us...someone said to me we are like a dysfunctional family. Maybe we are...and that is probably a turnoff to new members. I noticed that steelplate who I liked a lot, has not posted in a while either. Face it Cawacko, we are repulsing new members!

Haha, I was trying to turn the mirror away from myself but you are correct. When you have the same people talking year after year you can pretty much predict their position on almost any issue after awhile. It really does become insular.

I have fought and made up with Superfreak more times than I have with ex's of mine. I have known you since years before you were married when you were getting drunk and posting on the board at 3am for me to fly to San Francisco and you would pay for the first class ticket. (LOL). I have discussed and gone through more personal shit with Rana and Christie than I can even remember. I could go on and on, but it's really no wonder we don't attract new people, I will try harder when I see new members around to debate issues more.

A girl never forgets first class! If you had only sent one of those pics, I totally would have been on the next one leaving! ;) Nah I was in my Marxist professor stage then! Which really goes to show that I should have spent some of the time I've wasted on message boards over the years in therapy. lol

I trolled steelplate mercilessly about China. And after he told me that I was a traitor, I told him to renounce his citizenship and move to Somalia. I think he was a little confused.
