It is well known that the medical expenses accrued to a patient during the last year of their life is generally greater than the medical expense incurred during all the other years of their life.

Under socialized medicine where the state must ration care, this presents a significant problem. Canada, the darling of the radical left came up with an answer to this. Eliminate those who are expensive to treat. The Canadian government began killing those who are old and infirm about a decade ago. It is very popular among the ruling caste, not for themselves of course, but thinning the herd.

The 2022 numbers are in, and now death by government is the 5th leading cause of death in Canada. The numbers killed higher than Covid-19.

If this were anything other than government euthanizing the unwanted, it would be considered a major crisis, but in service of socialism it is very popular to use on others by the left.

Life is to be valued in qualitative, not absolute, terms, and euthanizing those with no quality of life is an act of humanity.
We are primitive savages to not legalize and adopt the practice.

Canada is not the darling of the left, radical or otherwise.
Their system is similar to our Medicare--public payment of private services.

The UKs National Health Service provides actual public services.
That should be our goal.

It's not that they have no quality of life, it's that they have no value to the state.

Everyone rations care. Because there is not an unlimited quantity. This thread is so galactically stupid it should be removed because it endangers the IQ of everyone who reads it. Insurance companies call it 'utilization management'. Palliative care is a massive waste of medical resources. Advanced Illness planning is vital in keeping those costs under check, but dumb fucks like the OP labeled Advanced illness planning as 'death panels'.

Wow, just one of the dumbest fucking threads I've ever seen.

The state does not determine who is going to die. People choose assisted suicide (as they do in 10 states). What does assisted suicide have to do with socialism?

The Canadian medical system is not socialist. It is public insurance for services provided by the private sector (like Medicare)
