While i agree to some degree Obama begat Trump 1.0 i think the rest of your view and OP are off base.
What happened was the hard core racists in the Republican party (~20-30% of populace) were seeing what they view as a failure in the party and America. The Republican party realized to keep power in the future they would have to be more inclusive of PoC and eventually cede that the party along with country would be comprised of a majority of minority people.
There was no way around that with the demographic changes that seemed to not be stoppable.
Many in the party accepted that but the hard core racists, lead by the Federalist Society, hatched a plan to destroy America as it currently exists and reform it in a way that would lock in minority rule such that the new Republican party, now called the Magat Party, could openly attack and not worry about pushing out PoC including the growing Latino population.
It was an all or non gambit because if they do not succeed now the time would be lost soon the way trends were going.
