The best means of self preservation? No...the best means of self preservation is to hide away from people like a hermit. Because, there's always the chance that you yourself could die in a shootout.
Not only that Wide Receiver was done with the (sometimes limited) knowledge and participation of the Mexican government, while Fast and Furious was done with neither. There was also the attempt to actually track the weapons from Wide Receiver while Fast and Furious predicted that they would find them when they were found at crime scenes and through that they'd be "tracked" back to the big boss of the bad guys. The whole idea is just one of the stupidest excuses to give weapons to bad guys I have ever heard.
They ran this program in six cities, all we've heard about is Phoenix... In that one city more than 10 times the weapons were simply allowed to walk across the border without even an attempt to track them and with the expectation they'd be found at crime scenes. Exactly what kind of crimes do Cartels commit with these kind of weapons? We basically said we'd track them when we found them at murder scenes.
This was right around the time that Hillary was out decreeing that we needed some gun control because "90 percent" of the weapons that they tracked were from the US. Now this was bad information in many ways, the Mexican government only gave them lists of weapons they suspected were from the US to track, and... We expected to find many of them at crime scenes, it was the plan.

No...my true intent is to further limit access of deadly weapons designed to kill to violent criminals and the criminally insane. Why do you hate innocent victims of crime and mental illness?

Not at all....other than the fact that we have to pay for them forever....do you have a problem with the ones that are out in the public having a more difficult time getting firearms?

what part of 'freedom' are you incapable of understanding? if they can't be trusted out in public with a weapon, you can't be trusted out in public. the quicker you statists understand this, the quicker you'll ditch this apathetic bullshit about letting violent criminals back out in to society.

Freedom? So....we should round up all paroled violent felons and anyone who's mentally ill, and lock them up for the rest of their lives. For freedom's sake?

Wow....the inability to purchase a weapon because of a history of violence or severe mental illness is MORE totalitarian than rounding all of them up and imprisoning them for life?

Craigslist? WTF? They don't allow guns to be sold on that site.
You can, however, buy guns online. But they must be shipped to someone who holds an FFL. And they will run a background check before giving you the gun. Online sales are not one of the "loopholes".

Only if they're being shipped. Go to Armslist and some of the other "craigslist" type sites that specialize in weapons trading/sales. If they meet up in person...it's cash and carry.
