No. America spoiled their children by constantly telling them they are special. Without discipline, that "sparing the rod" results in people thinking they are more special than others.

This is the entire basis of political extremists: Each of them are so special only their view counts, no one else's. They have no sense of duty. No sense of doing something for the betterment of all. No self-discipline. Only immature assholes, mostly man-childs, screaming the adult equivalent of "I WANT MY BOTTLE!"

I favor requiring service to one's country as the price to vote. It doesn't have to be military. Four years of service in Peace Corps, WHO or some other recognized institution which takes the little immature shits and rips them away from mommy and daddy to learn about both the World and what it means to be an American. Living abroad for a year would be part of the requirement to 1) complete or get credit for college classes, hoping to exist service with an AA or AS and 2) two years of tuition and books at a list of respectable and reasonable colleges/universities.

The main point is that our country is best served by educated, intelligent and sane citizens.

The bottom line questions should be 1) How do we make more? 2) What to do about the rest?
