Palin says Obama's health care plan is 'evil'

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called President Barack Obama's health plan "downright evil" Friday in her first online comments since leaving office, saying in a Facebook posting that he would create a "death panel" that would deny care to the neediest Americans.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care," the former Republican vice presidential candidate wrote.

Would I vote for Palin? Not likely, I find her a gadfly.

With that said, yes, Obama's plan is evil in the sense it will leave people to die in greater numbers than before. Perhaps in the name of 'equality', but it's not. Relatively few are not covered, those that aren't manage to cop major medical, which means 'less than dying' for the most part. Obama's plan leads to many more doing that, with few perhaps, no guarantees, getting better coverage.

Obama's plan is wrong, we may need reform, but not a NEW SYSTEM. Copying the Europeans and Canadians is dumb, on so many levels.

The Canadian and European systems are far more successful at raising life expectancy and lowering infant mortality than ours. The people ARE dying in greater numbers proportionately than in most single payer civilized countries. Why?
Single payer will cover everybody.
Please point out the liar, Palin's death panel. She is worse than just a gadfly, she is an evil liar willing to say anything to advance herself with no worry about dishonesty hindering her words or their effect on her poor, bewildered
followers.

We need AN ENTIRELY NEW SYSTEM. The only problem with Obama's plan is that it doesn't go far enough. It's far too tame; it basically keeps the exact same system in place with a little patchwork so that the dam doesn't burst as soon.

Looks like Palin's right. From page 425 of the House Bill:

That's BS. The infant mortality stats are a farce the way you choose to use them. Canada does not attempt the lifesaving measures that the US medical system does to save fetal life that results in high risk births. Our infant mortality rates are high due to babies coming to term that otherwise would have ended in miscarriage and not counted as an infant death. Other factors are our larger population of younger adults involved in high risk lifestyles.

No one is running off to Canada or France for medical help...but we do get a high percentage of foreigners coming here for procedures; either not available or that require them to wait up to two or more years to have done in their own countries.

Palin is a genuine person who is far from being evil or a being a liar.

14% of Americans have gone to foreign countries tos eek medical care.

A lot of people go out of the country simply to avoid our exorbitant costs. For instance, even with the cost of a flight it costs less to go to India and get a heart surgery with perfectly acceptable medical standards. Maybe some go to find "alternative" treatments to cancer, but they could get them right her at home thanks to Republican deregulators anyway. For her to state with confidence that this is the 'majority' of such trips strikes me as rather odd, and rather a stupid claim to make without even providing any evidence. It's like she heard a story of someone doing it once and decided that was enough to extrapolate it to the whole population.
