Actually, Mueller needs to poop or get off the pot pretty soon.

There’s a growing number of congressmen calling for an SP to be appointed to investigate the DOJ and since it would inevitably get into the Mueller investigation, things could get ‘interesting’ pretty quick.

I think that’s why Mueller is pushing to get Trump to do an interview: Mueller is feeling the heat and he needs something/anything to hang on Trump.
