They keep saying on the news that we are waiting for Brandon's latest report on new Sanctions that he finally and reluctantly will set on Russia (after the political will of the US Citizens pushed him into action).

Are you happy?

He's been hesitant due to inflation, including the soaring cost of gasoline. Now the RWers will cry as prices go even higher and demand that he Do Something. lol

Biden is sensitive to it being winter in Europe, he isn’t knee jerk like the last guy.

More than likely they will now push for lifting more bans on domestic production and for an active goal of energy independence noting that it isn't okay to buy from Iran (terrorism) or Venezuela (Russian lackey). Brandon is leading from behind again, all other Western nations have already done this... And polls in the US support it. Brandon is once again late to the party.

No but it's the best call. What would you do?

BTW, remember this? https://fortune.com/2020/04/14/trump-oil-deal-inside-story-saudi-arabia-russia-price-war-ended/
At that moment, the OPEC+ alliance sealed the largest ever coordinated production cut, removing about a 10th of global supply. The historic deal had almost been derailed by a fight between Saudi Arabia and Mexico’s populist government, forcing President Donald Trump to step in and broker a face-saving solution....

...Trump has taken time away from grappling with the world’s largest coronavirus outbreak and waded into oil politics with a surprising goal. He’s gone from welcoming the crude price collapse to worrying about losing the American energy industry. Fearing that job losses in Texas and other oil-rich states could hurt his re-election prospects, he convinced Putin and the Saudi monarch to end hostilities and make a compromise.

“Trump views himself as a deal maker,” said Joe McMonigle, an energy consultant and former U.S. government oil official. So “Trump went to the oil market’s red phone.”

The president sealed the historic deal by offering the Saudis something that exists only on paper. When Mexico refused a big output reduction, putting the whole agreement in danger, Trump assured OPEC+ that the U.S. would cut its own production on its neighbor’s behalf.

Mexico would remove 100,000 barrels a day, and the U.S. would contribute an additional 300,000 barrels a day, Trump said at the White House. OPEC+ officials and others involved in the talks said those extra barrels simply didn’t exist. The decline in American production would be driven by prices, demand, and capacity in pipelines or tanks, not presidential press conferences.

But ultimately his offer was enough.

Phantasmal found one place that Trump didn't like drilling and wants us to believe it is the same as closing down all exploration and new drilling on Federal land. But yeah, like there too. I get that you are excited you found one place that Trump didn't like drilling, however Trump did not end an energy independence policy.

Absolutely, I am very pleased to have someone who thinks, consults, and reasons prior to acting rather than going off half-cocked, usually on Twitter.

We got a reminder of that the other day, when Trump suggested a false flag operation to "bomb the hell" out of Russia.

There's the immediate future, say next five years, and the long term. Long term, our nation's leaders need to figure out where our nation needs to be in 50 years. IMO, free of the Oil addiction is the best goal; Renewable energy. Best to start planning and acting now rather than our usual "wait until the house is on fire before buying insurance".

Drilling drilling drilling is not the answer. Renewable energy sources are. That's what other Western nations are doing. Will the QOP finally get on board with the energy of the future, or continue to burn dinosaurs because they *are* dinosaurs?

It’s also Georgia and South Carolina. No, COVID did. 9,000 leases Damo. It isn’t Biden stopping production. It’s the oil companies.

In 50 years we will be using different energy sources. I really do support an active and eager work towards new energy. I just also support energy independence while we get there. For instance... back in the day I talked about using LNG in vehicles, it is slightly more expensive but it is less damaging to the environment.. I just believe we should use every source available in the interim.

horseshit. Biden shut down keystone, Biden cancelled offshore drilling leases, Biden banned all drilling on federal lands, Biden shut down anwar. The high gas prices and inflation is ALL the result of stupid senile Joe's policies.

the free market will put alternative energies on the market when they are financially viable, until then it is just plain stupid to ban the use for fossil fuels.

I think only liberals are genuinely willing to support the defense of democracy against the threat of global totalitarianism. And to tolerate at least some adversity that comes with it.

When have conservatives ever shown the slightest interest in defending democracy? Not on January 6th, when they tried to subvert democracy. I don't even think Bedtime for Bonzo ever gave a rat's ass about democracy, even though he relished the political optics of lecturing Soviet leaders about it.
