My concern is this.

The pigfucking orangutan is entitled to Secret Service protection for the rest of his life.
He obviously can't have that in prison.

Even in the unlikely event that what should be an easy conviction actually happens,
he can't get worse than house arrest.

I'm not sure that it matters.
It will take decades to undue the harm that he's already done with his SCOTUS and other judicial appointments.
I won't live to see if the republic survives long enough to repair itself.
Probably none of us will.

How could they convict him with a GOP Senate? Did you actually thing Trump surrogates as Graham, Cruz, Grassley, Johnson, etc., actually weighted the evidence before voting no?

Trump is the leading candidate to win the GOP nomination for President, of course he draws attention, even most Republicans, duh. The fact base of this case does not in any way suggest anything political. Someone reported that Trump had failed to return documents that were requested by the National Archives. Someone on Trumps team ratted him out. Trump then ignored a legally issued subpoena and hid the items that he was required by law to return. That is open and shut obstruction of justice. Trumps claim that he declassified documents is of course belied by the tape we all heard today. Irony noted...... they are laughing at the idea that Hillary would have emailed the document to everyone. Trump? He just showed top secret classified documents detailing plans for a war with Iraq to two toadies.

Failure to prosecute this crime could have been viewed as politically motivated.
