EU referendum: UK 'must not delay leaving'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-36618317

Is that " Fuck off " ? Sure sounds like " Fuck off ". How long can they drag out " Fuck off " ?

EU leaders have insisted that the UK must move swiftly to negotiate leaving the organisation, saying any delay would prolong uncertainty.

European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker stressed the "Union of the remaining 27 members will continue".

Article 50 should be triggered immediately. 2 years to negotiate your future, all 27 member states (who are quite rightly pissed off at you) have to agree to the terms in that time or you get nothing and are treated like a random African country. This is the path you have chosen, Britain.

agree 2 years is a long time. They can take a day to celebrate of course but the articles need to be triggered asap

It's a divorce. all the anger and deadlines come out now until they realize cutting each other's throats hurts both parties.
Or maybe not, and it becomes a typical destructive divorce.. either way the lawyers are beneficiaries

I think JK Rowling summed this up.

"Brexiteers like the cheating man shocked he can't stay in the spare room for 2 years while he sorts himself out."

I keep reading this is only the beginning of the exits. and not to make too much of it from an American perspective -
but in general it's not so much economics driving this as the feeling of being ruled by remote bureaucrats.

Freedom is a catchy idea.. self sovereignty is the natural state of mankind (etc.)

But i'm not getting any real desire to stay in, more fear and loathing of what happens if the states leave.

Well, it is reactionary in its own way. But it's reactionary in reaction to reactionaries. Huh! That's a tongue and maybe mind-twister.

But there is a strain of thought that only by punishing the UK can the EU ensure no other reactionary movement gain foothold.

Perhaps cooler heads will prevail. We shall see.

Sovereignty only belongs to nation states, there is no such thing as self-sovereignty besides anarchy. You have absurd and naive political ideas.

If the EU doesn't have balls now, it will ensure it's collapse in the future.

read the 10th you collectivist moron

The tenth amendment says nothing about individuals. And it's worded such that it basically has no relevant legal effect anyway. All it says is that the federal government has the powers that it has, which was already the case upon passing the constitution. As well, the constitution sets up a system in which sovereignty is shared between states and the federal government. No sovereignty at all belongs to individuals. Individuals are by definition not sovereign in a civilized society. Sovereignty means that you can do whatever you want, and the only restrictions on your behavior are diplomacy and war.

A lot of these fools didn't think it would really happen, and now you have the Leave leaders instantly reneging on one of the main promises of their campaign. I mean, it's stunning really. Instantly! Uh, no, that was a mistake, we are not going to send that 350 million pounds a week to the NHS. I know we ran on that, but strike that. Not happening.

I don't believe I have ever seen anything so craven.

So my point is, what would a poll look like this morning? I really hate to see people suffer, even when they're uneducated morons who voted to fuck themselves, got fucked, woke up and said, shit what did I do?

I would like to see cooler heads prevail. A second referendum is highly unlikely, but...not impossible.

It's happened before. See, Ireland's initial rejection of the Lisbon treaty in 2008.
