Esper on his way out.

The Pentagon has told National Guardsmen deployed to the nation’s capital not to use firearms or ammunition, and has issued orders to send home active-duty troops that the Trump administration amassed outside the city in recent days, a sign of de-escalation in the federal response to protests in the city.

Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper made the decision to disarm the guard without consulting the White House, after President Trump ordered a militarized show of force on the streets of Washington to quell demonstrations that were punctured by an episode of looting Sunday, two senior administration officials said. Trump had encouraged the National Guard to be armed.

Trump will have a fit.

The guy has gone rogue and is disarming the National Guard as the violent Communist terrorist group "Refuse Fascism," is planning mass riots in DC.

I know we are not anonymous on the Innernetz but I'm pretty sure that they don't waste their time looking at every single forum, FB post, Snapchat or Instagram or Tweet or comments on news articles by viewers and so on. Now if someone made an actual threat here, i.e., "I've got a rifle and a scope and I'm taking it to DC to eradicate the problem" -- and someone reported it -- I'm sure that they would definitely take that quite seriously. But merely saying "___ needs to be eradicated" is not a credible threat, any more than the RWers here telling ppl to die or to kill themselves is a threat.

They scan for words or phrases. But if you think I'm wrong ok.

So guys in suits and badges are just likely to visit you. It is against the law to threaten the president. Word to the wise.

I know the POTUS and state and federal lawmakers/judges etc are special cases but my understanding is that calls for unlawful acts have to be imminent and likely to fail the clear and probable danger test of the Brandenburg decision, you may get a visit but they would have to find corroborating evidence such as stockpiles of weapons or target lists for you to be successfully charged and prosecuted. I for one won't allow the Feds in without a warrant and won't speak to them without a lawyer. Shit posting on the internet shouldn't be a crime, actively conspiring to commit violent acts is another matter.

The threat has to be imminent and likely. The cases that I've seen where people were actually prosecuted have been direct threats against individuals backed up by corroborating evidence that they intended to carry out acts of violence EG stockpiling weapons and target lists.

You are right about that; they collect vast amounts of metadata and have the ability to parse groups and individuals out of that. If they were truly interested in our Mr. Trumpet, they would have to get access to the JPP database to get is IP address. They might be able to narrow him down from that. They could also subpoena Damo's files and records and discover whatever info he gave when he signed up.

They can do that with you, too. Or with me, or with anyone. For any reason. Did you use the nickname "Trumpanzee" a few too many times? Brag a little too much about how many guns you have, and what kind? Were you a little overboard in praising the BLM movement, Antifa (lol), Oprah, or the NRA?
