Nor do they show up to authorities requesting asylum. That's the difference from sneaking across the border and hiding under false credentials.

They absolutely show up to authorities requesting asylum. A lot of them look for CBP agents to turn themselves in to.

The ones that have criminal records or have been deported before try to evade arrest and use fake SS cards to work. The ones who have clean records or kids or come from places like Venezuela try for asylum and turn themselves in. For example most of the 50 that went to Martha's Vineyard had applied for asylum.

Walter, when an illegal crosses our borders illegally to apply for asylum, he/she does so illegally.

There is a procedure and a place to apply for asylum and it doesn’t involve swimming across the Rio Grande and crossing our borders without documentation.

Actually, if they apply from outside the USA, they are refugees, not asylum seekers. By definition, asylum seekers flee and then apply for asylum. So when they land in NYC and apply for asylum, they are asylum seekers.

If their asylum is granted, then retroactively their entering is approved.

It is sad that I have to explain this to you.
