It’s a very fair/good question because equity means different things to different people. So assuming there is one dictionary definition that everyone goes off of is wrong. Often, equity means equality of outcomes not equality of opportunity. You won’t find that in the dictionary

When fairness is determined to mean that hurricane disaster aid goes first to a certain race, equity becomes racist.
