The point was that Trayvon Martin is this generation Emett Till, even though the circumstances of the Till case are far more brutal, the fact is that young black men are targets because of the color of their skin.

The data shows that they are targets of other black men and not other white men. That is what the data shows.

You are TRYING to make Martin the modern day Till for political reasons and it is disgusting. There is nothing similar. THere is blood on your hands for sowing this hate and discontent.

Man, talk about divisions in this country. I'm reading from the left the idea of clamping down on our ranks and getting rid of traitors and I'm reading Liz Cheney is challenging the incumbent Republican Senator from Wyoming not on the basis that she has a problem with his voting record but because she believes he is too "willing" to negotiate with Democrats. We've heard that a number of times from other tea party backed candidates as well.

In my simple view of the world I don't see how we as a country benefit when both sides go off into their corner bunkers and say 'fvck it I'm done communicating'.

For those who don't know, Emmett Till was killed because he was said to have whistled at a white woman, not because he was said to have spoken to her.

In my interview with his mother, Mamie Till several years ago before she died, she told me something I did not know. Emmett had asthma. She taught him to whistle when he felt an attack coming on because it calmed him down enough for him to breathe properly.

He was just a boy .. killed because he was black.

All I am saying is you aren't quite as willing to throw Onceler under the Racist Bus due to his lack of what you personally believe on this issue, and actually what you've said can be part of the necessary conversation rather than just an attempt to shut somebody up.

Actually he has been so smug I put him on IA for a while. I am sure I will take him off, but not while this thread is still going. I did take SF off already. He was just on a 24 hr hold...that's much shorter than the usual time I make him serve.
