While that is certainly possible in a fight, by all accounts it was over so fast that it is unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.

Yet she contradicted herself many times. She admitted that the prosecutor had prompted her to change her answers... which goes back to Christies point about the prosecution putting a fix in... as it adds credibility to that possibility.

It isn't even unlikely.

Zimmerman also contracted himself many more times, and yet, you believe him.

Well, I was calling for rioting. I'm still a little disappointed at how peaceful the protests have been.

It's all good Onceler, they'll try to silence you, ironically by saying you are somehow trying to silence them. The thing of it is, the "agree damn you!" mentality doesn't help the conversation at all. If we are ever to get to a point where Dr. King has a shot of seeing his dream we have to be able to actually talk about it.

again, it is the physical evidence, not his testimony that I give more credence to. That provides, in my opinion, enough of a reasonable doubt to warrant acquittal. Had the prosecution done a better job, I do think they could have gotten a manslaughter charge, but as well all know the prosecution was horrid.

Some people (Lorax, myself) think the evidence in the case and the ineptness of the prosecution led to the acquittal of Zimmerman. Others (BAC, Desh) proclaim that we are racists for thinking that.

A small group of posters lost their minds and spewed out about 1,000 lies, all while calling pretty much everyone else a racist. At the same time, another group kept their cool and tried to talk them down, to no avail.

I'm glad my life's going nowhere. Man, my reddit and JPP posts are a veritable gold mine. And it's all backed up on sites like the wayback machine, and I've left enough information to be personally identifiable to anyone with even amateurish web detective skills, there's no getting out of it.

There's no doubt in my mind the case went from prosecuting GZ to prosecuting TM. And for all the people here talking about evidence, you guys are basing it mostly on what GZ said, i.e. "he attacked me first", "he jumped me while I was waiting for the cops", "he looks suspicious, like he's on drugs or something". Do you not see the unfairness of giving GZ's testimony the most weight because he's alive and TM isn't? And what about Serino sneaking in his opinion that GZ seemed straightforward in his answers? The judge trying to strike that is like unringing a bell, it's out there for good.

I'll say it again, it was wrong for everyone to assume GZ was telling the truth about the killing when his own record of lying and deceit was downplayed.

I'm not into conspiracies, but...

Imagine the public outrage in a small southern town after the killing of a young black male. A town so embroiled in it's history of racism by the police department it was still reeling from a recent scandal.

So what to do? Have the republican teabagger governor appoint a republican-appointed State Attorney from a large republican county and load the prosecution with white attorneys and a white jury, save one Hispanic, and secure a not guilty verdict for the judge's son with a prosecution so weak and flawed only a black could have been found guilty.

And there you have it. Justice, Florida style.
