The second installment of Elon Musk's so-called "Twitter Files" shed light on the company's practices of secretly "blacklisting" certain tweets and users.

"A new #TwitterFiles investigation reveals that teams of Twitter employees build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users," journalist Bari Weiss began her thread on Thursday.

"Twitter once had a mission ‘to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.’ Along the way, barriers nevertheless were erected," Weiss wrote.

She pointed to Stanford University's Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a longstanding opponent of COVID groupthink during the pandemic who expressed opposition to lockdowns.

"Twitter secretly placed him on a 'Trends Blacklist,' which prevented his tweets from trending," Weiss reported.

Weiss highlighted that Fox News host Dan Bongino was placed on a "Search Blacklist" and Twitter had Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk on "Do Not Amplify.".......

So Twitter suppressed (shadow banned) Dr. Jay Bhattacharya. He is one of the most educated and reasonable voices talking about COVID . Pretty early on in the pandemic he said we should protect the elderly and the sick and not lock down the younger people and let them keep the economy going. It will be interesting to find out who told Twitter to suppress his Twitter account. Twitter also suppressed several other conservative accounts like Dan Bongino and Charlie Kirk. Of course Twitter lied and said they did not shadow ban. They also shadow banned "Libs of Tik Tok." and Twitter even admitted Libs of Tik Tok had done nothing wrong.

I love how bent Conservatives get when an independent business doesn't behave like everyone has a Constitutional Right to access to that business. It shows the hypocrisy from the times they complained that bakers should have the right to NOT serve gay customers.

No one has a RIGHT to broadcast their unhinged shit on Twitter. It exists NO WHERE in the Constitution. Yes, it is a form of the de facto public square but it isn't the public square. No one is stopping whatever loon wants to screech about their love of Hitler or whatever nutjob shit inhabits their mind. What is being done is that they are not being given ANOTHER source of places to broadcast. Just like you don't have any RIGHT to a television show.

Without moderation or with lax moderation you wind up with festering shitholes like THIS FORUM.

Perry Constricted Dick We know the GOVERNMENT told them to ban various accounts that the GOVERNMENT did not like. I'm not comfortable with that are you. What do you not understand about Religious freedom?

Personally I don't care if a bigotted Christian wants to lose business by not serving gay people. That's up to them. It's their business.

But since that isn't really the topic of the post I was responding to, I'll just reiterate that no one has a Constitutional Right to broadcast on Twitter.

Every Twitter employee is allowed to read anyone's DMs.
Twitter is shadow banning those going against the false narrative of Twitter.
Twitter employees are doxxing those who make mean Tweets.
