We are a Republic. We have a representative government. Each state has electoral votes based on population size. Each state in our Republic uses a "popular vote" to assign its electoral vote in the general election. My vote in WA did not count, because the popular vote count awarded Hillary the electoral vote. Evinces vote helped the electoral vote in CA pick Hillary. So Evince, your candidate won in your state, and in mine.
