Economy Picking Up Steem!!!

same general actions of nazism, string the people along with 'projections' of what will happen, if only the people can get behind it, but places no accountability on the failure of it.

Still not a promise... But a projection that was wrong. Makes me question more harshly any future projections.

See the difference, had said, I project that we will find WMD in Iraq, that would have been an incorrect projection that was promoted as a reason to go to war, kill untold civilians and over 4000 american heros.

What Bush did was, say, Iraq has WMD, we know where they are. That is a lie promoted as a reason to go to war and kill untold civilians and over 4000 American Heros.
Here is the difference. He promised to "save or create" eleventy-billion jobs, because of that promise he projected we'd peak in September at 8.4% unemployment (also because he wanted there to be less of a deficit on paper than in reality) as he would be "saving" all those jobs. We surpassed that in job losses in less than 2 months and are likely to be in double-digits very soon.

He continues to say he "saved" jobs, even though his overly optimistic projection based on his promise has shown that to be unprovable nonsense. We have lost more jobs than he projected we'd lose in entirety, the projection based on his promise of "saving or creating" those jobs.

This is accurate...

funny, especially given all the crap about 'budget surplusses' being turned into 'deficits'. The entire time the projections of the surplusses was bogus, yet many of you pretended they were FACT.

This is not to suggest that Bush wasn't horrid... he was. But the entire projected 'surplusses' were based on numbers created to justify the two parties spending more money.

To me, broken promises are much more tangible. If a politician says "I will not raise taxes," and he does, or promises to cut spending by 10%, and doesn't.

If a politician sets a goal of 8% unemployment, and it goes over 9%, they were either too optimistic or failed to see other variables, but they aren't breaking a promise.

Again, it is evidence of a different promise. To "save or create" a certain number of jobs. The projections were based on the promise.

Obama would say anything to get elected. He's broken a long list of promises in four months and the kool-aide drinkers give him a pass.

See if you can find them!

Fixed that for ya.

I'm not a big fan of the "Bush did it too" approach. Bush is not in Obama's league; one guy is a capable, intelligent President, and the other was a flunkie who got by on name alone and was in way over his head.

I keep hearing about all of Obama's broken promises; when that budget came out, it was as happy as I have been politically in my lifetime. The shift in priorities was clear as day, and a much-needed change from the direction we were headed.

as evidence by Bush being able to only swindle 7 MILLION from a single city while Obama is swindling TRILLIONS from an entire nation.

We will see If Obama is in Bush's league.
Obama owns the economy good or bad.
At some point it will turn around, I hope sooner rather than later. I hate the way things are going currently and wish we had turned it around by now. I for one will not wish that the economy won't turn around, I hope it does either because of or in spite of the government intervention.
