You're not very bright or indeed knowledgeable regarding US law. US law is derived from English common law, for the most part.

At both the federal and state levels, with the exception of the legal system of Louisiana, the law of the United States is largely derived from the common law system of English law, which was in force in British America at the time of the American Revolutionary War.

The US used to have a English King. They kicked them out and made the country their own CHANGING things to a new US way.

Do you know any history Spain, Italy, countries in Africa, and so on and so all have been ruled by outside nations at times and have some elements of their law based on those legacy rulings.

But what that DOES NOT MEAN today, is that the historical laws, EVEN ONCE CHANGED are what matter.

Trump IS a rapist by American Federal law and can be called that without him able to sue you successful, as the matter is SETTLED in law.

No amount of BUT US LAW CAME FOR ENGLISH law, changes the above fact.

But i would bet you have not been to most countries or better yet that you have learned nothing, if you have been.

You seem to not understand that simply because British common law was the basis of the US system, that the US CAN AND DID change it to fit the new rule.

This same pattern has happened all around the world (you claim to have visited) but do not understand.

If you are in any country that was once ruled by another, but now has their own rule and law, and you break one of those laws, you CANNOT use as a defense 'that is not illegal under the prior rulers law' as if that is what matters.

You struggle to understand the above.
