march 30 2024 Three months after an Alpharetta family was killed in a Texas car crash, a teenager has been charged and is under home confinement, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Luke Resecker faces six counts of intoxication manslaughter, two counts of intoxication assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, according to the department. Due to an unspecified “ongoing medical condition,” 17-year-old Resecker wasn’t fit to be booked into the Johnson County Jail. He posted the $50,000 bond and was released.
On Dec. 26, Resecker allegedly drove his Chevrolet Silverado into oncoming traffic on US 67, hitting a Honda Odyssey, according to the public safety department.
Of the seven people in the minivan, 43-year-old Lokesh Pothabutala was the only survivor. His wife, Naveena, their two children, 9-year-old Nishidha and 10-year-old Krithik, and Naveena’s parents, Nageswararao and Sitamahalakshmi Ponnada, all died.
