The US is a net energy exporter. It's our allies who will quickly suffer losing 25% of the world's oil, but we'll suffer in the long run from higher prices.
Japan is probably the worst hit by this and they have enough oil to last 9 months. China is the next but they have 1 billion barrels of oil in their SPR.
I doubt this thing will last 1 month. Maybe not even 2 weeks. By this weekend or early next week Pakistani forces will be invading southeast Iran to absorb the baluchs and the Azerbaijani will be moving in from the Northwest to absrorb the Azeri and possibly the kurds.

1...To neutralize the Iranian military response with the goal of less death and destruction Vrs a protracted boots on the ground war,
2...To instill enuff confidence in the Iranian citizenship so that they rise up and take charge of their own country as around 80% of the population was against the now defunct "and dead" old regime.
3...To offer amnesty to all Iranian military, police, govt officials, and even Republican guard who jump the fence and join they're fellow countrymen in a free Iran.
4....Once this is accomplished there will be not only a free Iran but also a pro west/pro American Iran.
5....By not having Iranian oil money to support terror anymore the terror networks and groups like Hezbollah will shrink in numbers very quickly. Terror NEEDS funding,...a Free Iran will turn off the money pipelines.
It is the hope of the administration that these goals can be achieved thru the air campaign,....I think it can. And quickly too. But, we are going to have to give them an Iranian figure to rally around,....someone who is KNOWN and has existing support. My bet is as soon as the bombing slows to nothing,...maybe another week or so,...we will trot out Prince Reza Palavi who is already quite popular there. This will be the beginnings of a free Iran.........

If any of this happens, I'll come congratulate you. But none of it will. Just like Republicans got us into two other quagmires in the mideast, they figured, "it's been awhile - let's fuck the world again!".
The closest thing to a blackhawk I've been in is a hip and I can't imagine trying to shoot down multiple small targets (I think the drones are less than 3 meters) with an unstablized door gun. I mean both platforms would be moving in 3 dimensions and you wouldn't be looking at short range shots either. I suppose if you put enough bullets in the air you're bound to get lucky occasionally but it doesn't seem like a viable solution to me.
It helps that the drones are flying in a straight line. They do not autonomously engage in dogfighting like a WWI. It's being able to intercept, get up alongside and put a few rounds through it....and not shoot down other helicopters doing the same.
Still four or five helicopters chasing a dozen or two of drones is probably going to miss a couple.
Another option is suicide drones: drones built to intercept and crash into another drone. These drones would be lighter and faster since they won't be carrying an explosive payload even if exactly the same type of drone. They'd be cheaper than Patriot missiles.
