Human rights groups call on the United States to do more to investigate the numbers of civilians killed and wounded by CIA drone strikes targeting al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch say their researchers have documented cases in which civilians who were not near a terrorist target were killed while laboring in fields or in their homes.

Nixon sent troops into Laos and Cambodia chasing the Viet Cong, liberal panties went into perma-wad mode.

Obama sends drones and troops into all sort of neutral countries.... permanent press panties.

this is great. the irony that allows leftists to defend war crimes by saying 'but bush did it too'.

The irony is you thinking I've ever defended war crimes, droning, etc. no matter who was President.

How's this? Every man, woman and child ever responsible for war crimes, droning, land mines etc. should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Mo' betta?

The Amnesty International report on Pakistan–titled “Will I Be Next?” leads with the dramatic story of 68-year-old Mamana Bibi who was killed by a drone missile while tending to her crops in North Waziristan.

According to the report, Bibi was blown to pieces in front of her grandchildren.

“I saw her shoes. We found her mutilated body a short time afterwards,” Bibi’s eight-year-old granddaughter Nabeela later described. “It had been thrown quite a long distance away by the blast and it was in pieces. We collected as many different parts from the field and wrapped them in a cloth.”

Human Rights Watch’s report on Yemen contains an equally detailed account from August 2012, where five men were blown to bits by multiple drone-fired missiles behind a mosque in the village of Khashamir in southeastern Yemen.

Villagers later told a Human Rights watch researcher than one was a cleric who had preached against al-Qaeda.

so I don't have to worry about you defending obama and drone strikes by asking righties why the defended bush doing it?

I never defended Obama's drone strikes and somewhere in the chaos of this forum there's a record of my comments. But don't expect me not to call out the conservative toadies who want to make drones all about Obama, and then push the goal posts when it's pointed out they've actually been in use for decades.

The United States government has made hundreds of attacks on targets in northwest Pakistan since 2004 using drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) controlled by the American Central Intelligence Agency's Special Activities Division.

Most of these attacks are on targets in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas along the Afghan border in Northwest Pakistan.

These strikes were begun by President George W. Bush and have increased substantially under President Barack Obama.

I'll believe Christie when she can prove she signed an online petition to stop drones...

This is true. While Christie CERTAINLY doesn't make it very public, she is opposed to Obama for his droning.

The consequence of those actions was to allow the Kmer Rouge and Pathet Lao to gain power and cause the deaths of over 2 million people.
