Drill Baby Drill

If McCain and Palin would have won the election, it would still be Drill Baby Drill, but even more territory for drilling!

as it should be. As long as we are consuming oil and nat gas, there is no reason we shouldn't be producing it ourselves in as great a capacity as we are capable of.

100% of the oil and nat gas produced in the US and off its shores fall under the Environmental Regs of the US.

What percent of oil and nat gas production from other countries falls under our regs?

that's how I feel about Sierra club tools. They want wind and solar only, wtf they drive auto's to the oil drilling protest.

thats the stupidest thing i've heard from you

i guess people who drink should never complain about drunks

Not the same thing.... you are welcome to bitch about the APPEARANCE... but not the PRESENCE if you are using the product. You are also welcome to protest against the misuse of the product. (ie... an oil spill or a drunk)

That is the difference. If it is unsightly, then by all means lead the effort to give it a new coat of paint or whatever it takes to be pleasing to you. But bitching about the PRESENCE of the rig is ignorant if you are using the very oil it produces.

If you want an apples to apples comparison with the drinking, it would be to bitch about alcohol producers while sipping a good scotch.

A distillery...........NOT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!

Kind of like that SF? :)

Ahh Topper, we got 6 in Oklahoma.....glad to have 'em. Jobs, you know. I know that doesn't compare to the 15 or 16 you have in Louisiana but we'll take what we can get. :)

Wanna drill in ANWAR by removing the Carribou?
Tell a Cajun they taste good blackened and they are out of season.

if there is no need for the rigs, then there is no need for the rigs compared to the VALUE that exists without the rigs. you're being extremely stupid about this. if the rigs produced a great value, you would have a point, but these 15, or even the main 9 rigs, produce squat in terms of VALUE compared to not having the rigs there.

I have zero prob with no rigs in visible site of Cali & Fl beaches. I do think where ever that seepage is it's boarderline retarded not to put a small production platform in and just produce enough to stop it from spilling out onto the beaches.

LOL....any good 'ol boy in SE OK would be that same way. But on a serious note, it is a mistaken notion, one often used for political purposes, that drilling would displace caribou. In fact, when all is said and done habitat is usually improved by certain operations. I realize it can be either way but there are some good programs being used by oil companies to maintain or even improve the habitat where they are operating.

I don't know how much oil those rigs produce, but my guess would be that the oil companies and state would not have built them if there was such little 'value' as you claim.

Bottom line, you are simply whining because you don't like how they look. You likely have no clue as to how much oil they actually produce.

Preach it brother, the only solice I take is they are keeping my oil price higher by limiting supply.:good4u:

i read a local report that said they produce very little....the value is in the rigs farther out...if you have some evidence otherwise, present it, i'm all ears....if they produce value and are needed, then they should be there, absolutely.

don't twist my point into something its not

"don't twist my point into something its not "

Anyone ever study Plato's "forms"? That's the one for irony...

Let me just add to Yurt's point. The deepwarter Rigs way out produce way more. We have one that's rolling equal to the rest of the whole business which is prob 1,000 wells.

Are you referring to how much they produce TODAY or how much they have produced since inception? Again, they would not have been built if they weren't a value to the state and oil companies. If there are 15 rigs in one location, odds are it was not a tiny field.

Obviously there is expected value in the sites further off shore or they would not want to drill them. One has nothing to do with the other.

My guess is your 'local report' came to the conclusion of 'little value' because like you, they do not like the rigs in their line of sight.
