Drag queen charged with child pornography. Whodathunk?

I'm guessing age-related mental deterioration. We're all headed that way unless we take an exit ramp.

I was 16 when I first logged onto the first precursor to this site. Probably hasn't been the healthiest thing to have had frequent access for my entire adult life. :cof1:

I must have 20 years on you then because in the late 80s with BBS's, I was over 30. I was 35 with AOL Online. "You've Got Mail!"

At that time I constantly traveled for a living. My business card said "My bags are packed". Usually I was gone four days at a time, 3 nights. Forums provided a source of consistent friendship and conversation since I could log on at any time, from (almost) anyplace. You're right, probably not the healthiest lifestyle, but not a bad one. I've learned a lot in conversing with people.

Yeah, I'm only 34 now. Watermark has it the worst. He was supposedly 12 when he joined Politics.Com, and now he's generally perceived as completely effed in the head. Surprisingly, a poster named Brent started off as a deranged troll, and gradually normalized/grew-up. When he got to a certain point, he quit political forums altogether (the lone outlier).

Brent becoming “normal” is debatable.

There's no scientific backing for the assertion that video games, or political forums, fuck people up. Fucked up people are attracted to what pleases them and what pleases them are fucked up things...which is why they are fucked up.

Religion or politics doesn't fuck people up but fucked up people are drawn to both as a means to legitimize their fucked up thoughts.

This is why all extremists are fucked up in some way.

From your link:

Positive Effects

Quick Thinking
Children who play action games tend to make quick and correct decisions. This is especially useful when caught in intense situations.2

Increased Accuracy
Action games are especially helpful in this regard, as they train the brain to make faster decisions without sacrificing accuracy.3

Improved Strategizing
Strategy games, fighting games, and role-playing games allow children to develop a sense of strategy that’ll be more helpful when situations call for it.

Linguistic Development
In countries where English isn’t the native language, games allow for the development of their knowledge of English. Games also help out in reading comprehension and the like.

Developed Patience, Concentration, and Perseverance
