The numbers are speculation, but Trump's treating Corona so weakly caused a lot of illnesses and death. He still does not care at all. He downplayed it for over a year. He used his powerful position to downplay Corona over and over scoffing at masks and distancing. The group of doctors this weekend showed they were forced to back Trump's craziness at the cost of their jobs and reputations. Faucl was just pushed away and not allowed the platform. Birx was more compliant. Trump demands that from everybody.
Birx regrets not reacting to Trump's crazy medical ideas. Trump would have found another if she fought. The entire treatment of Corona was determined by Trump. He is not a doctor, but he wanted to make it go away to help him in 2020. He simply did not care if people died.

Why wait for Sunday?

If Birx actually said that she’s either an idiot or has an agenda. Trump was *powerless* to affect the numbers any meaningful way because the Covid response was executed by the governors under the aegis of DR BIRX and the medical bureaucracy.

Trump might have been called a dictator but he had no dictatorial powers. Executive authority is limited [in theory, given the current dictator occupant of the WH] so Trump was literally powerless to affect any meaningful change in the total death count. The primary responsible for THAT lies squarely at the feet of the CCP.
