I would point out that "dozens" is clearly wrong. The US has two carriers present along with an LHA. Even if the US had every carrier in the fleet there, along with Britain and France, it wouldn't amount to "dozens."
Yes, two carriers alone gives the US almost the largest air force in the region at the moment, but it isn't dozens of carriers...
It says NATO.
I think UK, Germany, and France are the only three other NATO countries with aircraft carriers.I would point out that "dozens" is clearly wrong. The US has two carriers present along with an LHA. The entirety of NATO doesn't have "dozens" of carriers. Dozens means more than 24 total.
Dozens would technically mean more than 12. A plural means more than one, and one in the case of a dozen is 12.
NATO has 16 of the 21 aircraft carriers in the world. That would technically be dozens. I doubt there is any threat that we would send more than a few of those into, so we would not send dozens or even a dozen to anything.
When it comes to aircraft carriers, no other country even begins to compare to the USA. We get so much experience from operating a dozen or so carriers for nearly a hundred years, which no one else has. We can operate our a carriers many times better than any other country. It is truly amazing.
Other NATO countries are helped by the USA. The rest of the world's carriers are jokes.
No, "dozens" means two dozen or more.
The only way NATO can approach that is to include helicopter carriers and amphibious ships that have aviation ability and flight decks like LHA's. If you just count aircraft carriers that can launch and land conventional aircraft NATO has nowhere near that many ships.

You're so full of shit, one dozen is 12 and two dozen is 24 ffs.
And 1.25 dozens is 15. Seriously, this is a boring debate.
As a side note, because Serendipity is here, Thailand has an carrier... SORT OF.... Well a double sort of.
The first sort of is that it is only a STOVL carrier, not a full carrier. The second sort of is that it is not operational, and the Thais were never able to keep it operational. It is a former Spanish mini carrier, that the Thai Government bought and tows around pretending to be a real power.
It is sad.
You're being an arsehole, easier to just shut the fuck up.
Are you going to send the Thai aircraft carrier against me if I do not shut up?![]()

A plural is more than one, not two or more. Not really an interesting debate, so I am leaving it at this.
NATO has 16 full aircraft carriers. 11 of them are American. 5 are in other navies of NATO.
In terms of number of carriers, the USA has about half of them. The rest of NATO has about a quarter of them. And the rest of the world has another quarter. That is misleading, because it is also about operational fitness. The USA just runs their carriers many times better than other countries. The rest of NATO runs their carriers many times better than non-NATO countries. So NATO, including the USA has well over 90% of the real power in carriers.
