Yep, I think he's a stupid liar. I've always taken the challenging jobs and projects where I used to work, in fact, the machinist that I replaced (he retired shortly after I was hired) looked at one project and said "screw that, I'm retiring, it's all you." Taking those challenging projects and making the tooling needed to produce them is what prompted my employer to give me the position of manager of his machine shop. I'd sure like to go one on one with him on an engine lathe, especially turning tapers and and making the threading tools to turn internal left-handed tapered pipe threads on 316 stainless.
