A Trump Commerce Department official has been jailed for five-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to possession of child sexual abuse images.

Adam Hageman was arrested in November 2020 when Homeland Security agents executed a search warrant at Hageman’s Washington home.

Prosecutors stated that Hageman was accused of “sharing a child pornography video and commenting several times on sexually abusing children” in an online group chat.


The name of the website that the chat took place on has not been given by prosecutors.

But according to an affidavit filed in the case, Hageman claimed to have abused a child as young as 12, and wrote that he wanted to sexually assault children between the ages of 12 and 16.

George Nader, 60, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Virginia’s Eastern District.



The stocky, bespectacled former Washington insider was succinct as Judge Brinkema read the offenses in detail and asked for his plea.



“Guilty,” Nader said in a gravelly voice, rapidly nodding his head in a huddle with defense attorneys John Jeffress of Kaiser Dillon and John Nassikas III of Arnold Porter.

Please, democrats steep in hypocrisy, they dance through pools filled with it... Republicans kick out a dude that hasn't even been indicted from Congress, you keep a guy in the Senate even past the point of conviction. Seriously, there is no possible way even you could think that you have the moral high ground here. It's patently absurd. Either live up to the standards you set or shut up, either way, slink away from this thread, you have no platform on which to stand that isn't laughable.

But there was opposition. Opinions presented declared that HB23-1135 should be voted down because it; could be a danger to homeless/severely mentally ill citizens, would increase mass incarceration, or could be used to stop drag shows.
