Because in the past they didn't have to suffer from those policies. They devised those policies to keep others from getting to the 1%. They want to keep it an exclusive club.

You see, its a win-win-win for people like Warren Buffett to call for "higher taxes" on himself

1) He doesn't pay the taxes that he is calling for raising
2) He has enough money that he couldn't earn another penny and still be fine
3) He knows there are stupid people like you gullible enough to fall for it
