Donald Trump to double size of his campaign team, fired manager predicts

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski predicted in a speech on Tuesday night that the campaign would at least double the size of its staff in the next month, and said the Republican candidate would try to be the first to win New York since Ronald Reagan, according to a person who was present in the room.

Lewandowski, who was fired by Trump on Monday, told attendees of a fundraiser for the New York State Republican party that the Trump campaign would probably hire between 100-150 staffers in the next month, and would campaign in New York “just like Ronald Reagan in 1984”. The Trump campaign has long planned to scale up for a general election but the statement from Lewandowski hints at the most concrete plans yet by the Republican candidate to bulk up his undersized campaign team.

Trump has tried running an unconventional campaign, so far at least. And it was working until he committed a series of gaffes. Increasing staff might help with organization and the ground game but Trumps biggest weakness is himself.

Hillary Clinton is eminently detestable and defeatable: even most democrats don't like her.

If I were Trump I'd do this: first, get a TelePrompTer and use it. Second, organize a systematic approach to Hillary's litany of foreign policy errors and hammer her on it. Get her on the Iraq vote, Libya, the reset and etc. Then do the same thing with the Clinton Foundation, Benghazi and etc.

And above all, DO NOT GET OFF MESSAGE or into personal attacks on individuals who have nothing to do with the election.

If Trump can do that he can win. Even as bad as the past few weeks were, Hillary hasn't put him away in the swing states: Hillary is so flawed she lacks a knock out punch. If Hillary's smart she will, literally, just not say anything and let Trump knock himself out of the race.

It will be interesting to see if Trump can save the country from the debacle of President Hillary.

Run a disciplined campaign on message.
Getting rid of Lewandowsky was key. Agree with you on the points of how to do it .

Project what a "presidential Trump" is like

It's frustrating because I've seen him do it. His TelePrompTer speech before the liberal AIPAC was excellent and even got one of their members fired for coming out for Trump lol.

In a word, he lacks discipline.

The TelePrompTer exists for a reason. In our highly charged and partisan political atmosphere you have to be wary of speaking off the cuff. There's a reason Obama used one---and it had nothing to do with his ability to speak. He's liable to slip up and say what he's actually thinking and go on about clingers or what have you.

As if on cue lol:

Seeking to refocus his presidential campaign, Donald Trump will lambaste Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as a failed secretary of state who is out of step with Americans on trade and immigration.

Trump's address Wednesday morning at his hotel in New York's SoHo neighborhood marks his official opening salvo against Clinton, the prospective Democratic presidential nominee, in the general election. It comes as Trump faces growing questions about his readiness not just for the presidency, but for the campaign he will need to run to get there.

The Trump campaign is hoping the speech can quiet those concerns and rally Republicans around their shared opposition to Clinton. The billionaire businessman plans to focus in particular on Clinton's tenure at the State Department, arguing that her foreign policy is in part responsible for the creation of the Islamic State militant group.

"Hillary Clinton had a four-year tryout for the presidency as secretary of state," said Stephen Miller, a Trump policy adviser. "She ran the State Department and the world went up in flames. Everything took a nosedive, except for Hillary Clinton's bank account — which swelled to new highs."

That's a really interesting comment on the same day that it was reported that 1/5 of Trump's campaign money was going directly to Trump's businesses.

nope.
Clinton enabled ISIS in Libya, weakened assad without purpose (and damn near talked Obama into arming the FSA in Syria)
