if the electorate was just old white guys you might have a point but this years POTUS election will be decided by women. So in other words Trump is fucked. Trump is at best a 3:1 long shot. I think Crus is 8:1.

Kasich is the only Republican left standing who is electable but he's an establishment guy and the GOP base has made it clear that an establishment guy isn't wanted.

I almost hope Trump wins just to see you eat your words!! I have looked at his rallies and there doesn't seem to be any shortage of women there.

I just read where he thinks countries under the US protection umbrella should ante-up and that we should boycott Saudi oil until they do more about ISIS. I don't know that either would work [I don't know that they wouldnt] but a lot of Trumps ideas don't suffer for a lack of imagination lol.

A base election would favor Hillary. But the implied assumption [the base will turn out] is what should worry the democrats. Blacks almost certainly won't turn out for Hillary like they did Obama. Is there enough anti-Trump sentiment amongst women that it will over come the number of women who are uninspired by Hillary? Same ditto with Hispanics: will they turnout to vote for Hillary, warts and all?

I also suspect there's going to be a lot of first time voters this year. If I'm right, the majority of them will go Trumps way.

Anyone who thinks this is a slam dunk for Hillary is being too optimistic, IMO.
nope it's never a slam dunk but she has an easier path to tread, statistically speaking. She's also experienced and a disciplined speaker. More disciplined than Bill. She's not going to shoot herself down by saying something stupid, like Kerry and Romney did. There's hope...but don't count on it.

What the outcome is going to boil down to is winning 7 to 9 Swing States with Hillary having about a forty EV lead. That means Hillar only needs three to four of those swing states. Currently Hillary is leading in all those State in polling, in most, by double digit leads on Trump.

That's an even wider gap with Cruz. There would be fewer swing States in play. He would have to claw back around 100 EV. Cruz would win around 7 southern States and 5 Midwest or Mountain States in a general.

Now that's not to say that there's no chance they can win. They both have signicant probabilities of winning just not as high as Clinton does.

At AIPAC Trump proved he's at least capable of giving a good speech. He got a standing ovation [from liberal Jews!] at one point. Of course, it took a TelePrompTer and probably a speech writer to do it but he demonstrated he's at least capable of pulling it off.

That's the thing with him not being a politician---he's unpredictable. If he's still behind in the polls AFTER he wins the nomination and starts to focus on Hillary, then its time to face the dismal prospect of Madame Hillary.

Ugh...

And women are just going to vote with their vaginas?

Trump hasn't really focused on Hillary yet so I wouldn't get too excited about today's poll numbers lol.

That said, Trump could help himself by putting a lid on the personal attacks and focusing on policy. Trump can be pretty persuasive when he wants to be and he's a natural leader. People talk about what Trump wants to talk about---he directs the debate like no one else in the scene.

But he needs to clean up his act and I'm not sure he's capable of it. If he can, I think he's got a good shot at Hillary, who is pretty vulnerable, to put it mildly.

HRC has not really focused on Trump yet.

She is vulnerable, but he is more vulnerable. Have you seen the ad where women read out loud quotes of him talking about women?

Do you think that is evidence that the electorate as a whole does not have a problem with his apparent attitude toward women?

I have seen women who returned to abusive relationships over and over again, but I don't claim that that means a majority of women would vote for Domestic Violence to become legal.

For the past two Presidential elections the TEA and other far Right have said that they lost because they nominated more moderate Candidates and that a more right wing candidate would have done better. While I don't think Trump is actually more Right Wing, the far right appears to be likely to be getting its choice of candidates, and while anything can happen... It looks like they will be starting out with a smaller chance of winning than they did in the last two races.

Nope. Though Hillary might want to think twice about going there lol.

Have we heard from Bill recently?

She won't have to.

I'd look for Hillary to completely take the high road against Trump, to draw a contrast w/ his gutter politics. We're already seeing that.

The PAC's and other groups will tee off on Trump's negatives. I really don't think he stands a chance in the general, but this year, who knows.

ANY person the republican party puts up will fail this year

Laura Ingraham is the only republican willing to discuss the shambles the rulers have made of the republican party

I can't believe you just used Hillary and 'high road' in the same sentence lol.

but you never vote for then dem when it gets down to reality

so you are no better than him

You have both voted for the same evil repeatedly
