Donald Trump Has Spent an Astounding Amount of His Presidency Tweeting

A new report indicates he's wasted entire days tapping away on social media.

What has he tweeted now? Odds are you've asked yourself this question in the wee hours of the morning with a knot in your stomach or a tightness in your chest. And while there's no way to anticipate what horrors await—threat of nuclear war? [3] Personal attack on a private citizen? [4] The possibilities are endless!—we now have an idea of precisely how much time Donald Trump has spent torturing the country on social media since he assumed office. (An ABC poll found that 67 percent disapprove of the president's use of Twitter. [5])

According to an intrepid Washington Post report [6], Trump takes an average of six minutes and 24 seconds composing his missives. Post reporter Philip Bump arrived at this number by measuring the time gap in his multi-part tweets, which ranged from 12 seconds for pre-programmed, lawyer-vetted messages to more than three hours for the president's more free-associative screeds.

"These are estimates and they are impossible to verify," he writes. "But the evidence at hand supports the idea that days of Trump’s time in the White House have been spent on sending out his Twitter messages."

Trump has tweeted an astounding 1,817 times since becoming president. That amounts to 11,653 minutes—8.1 days, or approximately 3 percent of his time in office. And that figure doesn't account for the time he's expended perusing his timeline for dank white supremacist memes [7].

We can only begin to fathom how many weeks he's spent watching "Fox & Friends." [8]

Trump and Twitter seem made for each other. That Trump can dodge the traditional presidential communication style and communicate effectively with millions is significant no matter what you think about it. The Russian presence on Twitter and other social media is profoundly more significant that most Americans have come to realize. Donald and Vladimir have taken our politics if not to a new level, at least to a new stage.

It is a natural transition, the people who follow him on Twitter have been listening to talk radio and TV demagogues for years, they don't want details, all they seek is someone to tell them what they want to hear, simple answers to complex problems, Twitter just narrows it done further

3% of his time spent communicating by Twitter. OK, so what percentage of time was spent on letter-writing, emails and phone calls by other Presidents in the pre-Twitter days?

Who knows, but it's irrelevant to Trump's obsession w/ twitter, imo.

You guys shouldn't enable him so much w/ your excuses. He's as unhinged as the most sensitive snowflake when he goes on twitter.

The only real benefit is that it is easy to keep a tally of his many lies once he tweets them out.

Of course :palm:

Any stats on his time @ the golf course??

Any stats on the cost to the American tax payers for his visits, security etc??

Trump knows the white-hating, america-hating, media won't treat him fairly. You loony libs are mad because he's found a way to speak directly to the public. HAHA

That is just the amount of time devoted to physically typing the words. Imagine how much time this guy spends thinking about all the petty grievances, the vindictive daydreaming, and just the unimportant nonsense he devotes his limited brainpower too. During the first week of the Puerto Rico humanitarian disaster, I am convinced this Orange Pussy Grabber spent more time fuming about black football players, than thinking about how to help Puerto Ricans.

Oh my, the poor victim trumpf... Maybe we should send him a participation trophy so he will feel better??:awesome:

We should treat him the same way he treated the last president & others... If that is ok w/ you~or not.:dunno:

This guy's estimate doesn't even include the time Orangetweet's staff and others spend on covering his ass and back-stepping his bullshit.
