Donald Trump doing good for black Americans

he loudest Trump triumph of the moment has been dips to the lowest black unemployment in history, and get this: Jobs confer purpose, they provide pride, they build community, they set one up to help others, they enable social mobility, they lift the spirit. Welfare limps, jobs jog and you don’t get them through semi-socialist policies. You get them through deregulation and tax reform of the Trump kind, encouraging businesses to expand, lowering expenses and inspiring entrepreneurship.

Well, the critics say, there is still a large gap between black and white unemployment, and yes, there is, but you hardly address it by saying current job gains are therefore not that big a deal. We’re told, too, that jobs multiplied during the Obama administration. They did, but slowly as black family income dropped, hindrances known as regulations abounded and President Barack Obama said manufacturing would never be the same again. Manufacturing is now taking off.

Also under Trump, crime has dropped significantly in our biggest cities from the last two Obama years, saving black lives. Here is a shift likely facilitated in part by Trump’s support of police. Obama wanted no one dead, but when there were police shootings of blacks, he exacerbated tensions with his references to systemic police racism.

Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute studied deeply and found the degradation and anger made police defensively less proactive in keeping cities safe. Studies actually indicate that police are just as likely to shoot whites as blacks and MacDonald shows how the right kinds of strategically devised police interventions can deter crime significantly.

Trump believes in being tough on crime, but he is not enthralled by mass incarceration in which thousands, many of them black, are subjected to cruel conditions leading to recidivism. He promoted a bill that would improve all sorts of flaws in the system, prepare prisoners for a fruitful life when released and let 4,000 go, many of them ill and old. The bill passed the House 380 to 59 but the Senate has wanted sentencing reform, too, and guess what? Trump has said OK.

Although media fixation on the governmentally disruptive, largely unjustified and overreaching Mueller probe means little else of news value gets much attention, you might want to know that Trump is also behind an important effort to improve job training. Working with such big outfits as Walmart, General Motors and IBM, the president is helping to institute apprentice programs in needed skills to 3.8 million citizens.

It is just at 21 percent, but Trump’s approval rating among black Americans has improved, according to a poll by the NAACP. Compare that not just to earlier polls, but to the 8 percent black vote Trump received in 2016. The president of the NAACP, Derrick Johnson, has, however, underlined the 79 percent disapproval while referring to Trump as racist, divisive and the author of poisonous policies.

There’s no doubt that Trump was morally negligent in not immediately condemning the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, as one example of his racial misdeeds. But much of the anti-Trump rhetoric on race is more emotion than analysis. He was, for instance, hit by liberals for calling some black neighborhoods “hellholes” in his presidential campaign even as liberal themselves have done as much for years. A 2015 book backs them up. Titled “Our Kids,” it is by Robert Putnam, a liberal professor at Harvard, and provides descriptions that will make you shudder.

Among blacks who see things differently from Johnson is Darrell Scott, a policy-attuned Ohio pastor who gets out among the people. He says Trump is the most pro-black president in his lifetime. Even if that is going too far, Trump is in fact making a difference.

President Trump’s support amongst black voters has climbed to 29%. This accounts for the state media of the democrat party amping up any stories and accusations of racism.

In history? Are you huffing the fumes from Trumps motorcade, or something?

Blacks have been doing for 50 years what LBJ said he'd have them doing for the next 200 at over 90%. Many are wising up and leaving the plantation the Democrats have been more than willing to allow them to live and making wiser decisions with their support.

Much of the increased employment is offset by a low participation rate since 2008, especially for blacks. Not saying that Trump hasn't accidentally done some good for a lot of people, but he is certainly no champion of the poor or working classes, or the planet, or most anyone outside the Trump family.

[h=1]Black women become most educated group in US[/h]

The percentage of black students attending college has increased over the last 30 years

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...ecome-most-educated-group-in-us-a7063361.html

Black women are now the most educated group in US, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Between 2009 and 2010, black women earned 68 per cent of associate's degrees, 66 per cent of bachelor's degrees, 71 per cent of master's degrees and 65 per cent of all doctorate degrees awarded to black students.

The percentage of black students attending college has increased from 10 per cent to 15 per cent from 1976 to 2012, while the percentage of white students fell from 84 to 60 per cent.

By both race and gender, a higher percentage of black women (9.7 per cent) is enrolled in college than any other group, including Asian women (8.7 per cent), white women (7.1 per cent) and white men (6.1 per cent).

... as evidenced by their overwhelming support?

Since Democrat policies which blacks have supported at over 90% for the last 50 years have done so well for them, I can see why blacks would want to stay with Democrats.

Unemployment regularly twice that of whites. Bastard birth rate at 75%. Graduation rates significantly lower than the national average AND that of whites. 1 in every 3 1/2 using food stamps. Among all federally assisted housing categories (Section 8, public housing, vouchers), blacks are disproportionately higher users of those items than their population.

The Democrats have done a damn fine job helping out the largest voting bloc they have.

I think you can attribute Trumps rising support among blacks to a previous thread about Black women being more educated than any other demographic.
As blacks become more educated in general they see the damage done from Democrats leading them around by the nose ring, counting on their support and then doing nothing to advance their plight.

Trump said it best, "what do you have to lose"

And Trump delivered, the Democrat ruse is over, losing support among that demographic is the nail in the coffin for Democrat power.

Harah Huckabee Sanders Sorry for False Claim About Black Employment Under Trump

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders offered a rare apology Tuesday night for putting out false information about black employment numbers under President Trump. After claiming at a news conference earlier in the day that Trump has created three times as many jobs for black workers as former President Barack Obama—who she said “only created 195,000 jobs for African Americans” after eight years in office—Sanders was forced to walk back her statement. The White House Council of Economic Advisers took the blame for the mistake, acknowledging that black employment had actually climbed by nearly 3 million jobs under Obama. “Correction from today’s briefing: Jobs numbers for Pres Trump and Pres Obama were correct, but the time frame for Pres Obama wasn’t,” Sanders tweeted. “I’m sorry for the mistake, but no apologies for the 700,000 jobs for African Americans created under President Trump,” she wrote.

Another LIE BITES THE DUST ...

Isn't it nice when racist right wingers "speak for' blacks?

Blacks don't seem to be able to do for themselves. Maybe they can't speak for themselves, either, or when they do, they make excuses blaming white people for their below average abilities.

Trump So Fragile that Secret Service Act as 'Fluffers' to 'Pump Him Up'

Donny Deutsch isn’t just your standard Morning Joe contributor who joins in the daily chorus of criticism of President Donald Trump. Mr. Deutsch also happens to be a kindred spirit to Mr. Trump: they both grew up in Queens, benefited from their father’s family business, and both have become reality television fixtures (to varying successes.)

They both have travelled in the same social circles, so when Deutsch reveals insights into how the president is being handled while enjoying a working vacation at his Bedminster Country Club, it’s probably more reliably sourced than other cable news pundits.

During a segment discussing presidential approval ratings that seem glued to the low 40’s, Deutsch painted a picture of a President “so fragile” that before he enters a room, Secret Service agents encourage guests to “say positive things” and pump Trump up, ultimately likening them to “fluffers.”

Deutsch said “somebody told me at his country club in Bedminister and Trump was about to walk into the room and some of the Secret Service guys came up, when you see the president, say positive things, pump him up.”

“Fluffers in the room, in effect,” he added.

For those unfamiliar with the term “fluffer” Wikipedia defines this role as “a person employed to keep a male porn performer’s penis erect on the set.” Deutsch immediately recognized his strange comparison, and in a self-aware moment interrupted himself with, “Oh just said that word. Didn’t I.” He then clarified that the “fluffer” term was meant “metaphorically, of course.”

He finished his point, proclaiming that “Donald Trump is at the point he’s so fragile and cannot ever, ever be in any interaction, any exchange in any room that’s just not pure lionization, canonization, and it defies any left brain logic.”
