Charles McCullough III, the inspector general for the intelligence community is the one that started the investigation into Hillary's emails....not the FBI or Congress or Republicans
 
this is the doj that could not handle the case because its head got caught in a secret meeting with bill clinton amiryte?
 
The review also will look at whether appropriate policy and procedures were followed in Comey’s surprise letter to Congress on Oct. 28 – which announced he was revisiting the email probe in light of newly discovered emails – and a letter on Nov. 6, which announced there would be no further charges.

The probe will also examine allegations that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe should have been recused from the probe. Questions were raised about McCabe’s impartiality after it was revealed Clinton ally and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s donated to his wife’s 2015 Senate campaign.

Additionally, the probe will investigate allegations that DOJ and FBI employees improperly disclosed information not meant for the public. This apparently refers to assistant attorney general Peter Kadzik, whose email tipping off Clinton Campaign Chair John Podesta about a House oversight committee hearing was revealed by WikiLeaks.

my first question is whether the OIG survives the new administration. The deputy FBI guy was revealed to be Clinton ally and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s donated to his wife’s 2015 Senate campaign.

It would have been much simpler and just according to "gross negligence"just to indict HRClinton.
At least DoJ is getting a good flushing out.

So, is Glenn Fine the I.G. who is handling this investigation? He was put in by Bill Clinton...possible conflict of interest?

I have no clue anymore..
I've never seen such a convoluted mess - all because Bill Clinton grifted his way onto Loretta Lynch's plane ..
which put Comey in the untenable position he was in -having to make prosecutorial decisions.

One has to ask if Lynch had done her job, and not passed the buck to Comey..
Why didn't she pass the decision on to an Assistant AG?
That would have kept Comey in his proper role as investigator -not prosecutor.

Now WSJ is calling for Comey to resign....looks like Comey is being set up as a sacrificial lamb

Yes, oh Vanilla one, but it was lobbied by Congress and pressure from the people.

“In response to requests from numerous Chairmen and Ranking Members of Congressional oversight committees, various organizations, and members of the public, the Office of the Inspector General will initiate a review of allegations regarding certain actions by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in advance of the 2016 election,” the Office of the Inspector General said in a statement.
