Oh really? Link us to the procedure that the President has to follow. There is no specific procedure for the President to follow declassifying documents. The very act of the President claiming a document is a Presidential record means it is no longer classified. It has already been adjudicated in federal court and decided by a federal judge.

I've linked numerous times to the 3 cases i discuss above, where Trump and his WH legal team and Meadows went to court AND WON by arguing that there is a procedure and if that procedure it not followed even Trumps official writings or his own words captured in a media interview DO NOT declassify the material.


We have 3 different judges agreeing in all 3 cases that without the declassification procedure followed after the statement (spoken or written), then no declassification, in fact, happened.

So now something is declassified and yet no one in Congress or the Consulate, etc knows, nor do law enforcement.

A person mishandles that doc, and ends up charged because the FBI does not know the POTUS declassified it without telling anyone or following any procedures.

Over numerous POTUS then no one has any idea how many doc's prior POTUS may have done the same.

Suddenly decades later Jimmy Carter sees someone charged for mishandling classified material and says 'oh ya i declassified that without telling anyone back when i was POTUS', 'let that person go free'. Or he means to tell that to the DoJ but dies before he got the chance to.
