Does Vance have as much chance running for President as Pence does?

Which Republicans will run for President in 2028? trump has a whole King Lear thing going that anyone who wants to run for President is a traitor, so it is difficult for any Republican to start to run. trump is trying to find an excuse for another term, but even if he found that excuse, he will die sooner or later, and need replacing.

There are always family members. barron is learning how to speak with an American accent, to hopefully run for office sooner or later. The rest of the family is just about as useless.

Then there are people like Vance, or whatever name he is calling himself today, he has gone through three or four names so far. I give him about as much chance as Pence has.

"The PA Jew"? And you wonder why so many people would never vote for a Republican, with more people giving up on the Republican Party every day? There are not a huge number of Jews in America, but the more different small groups you alienate, the more difficult it is to win elections.

But you are correct about the Democrats having many strong candidates. Who are the Republican strong candidates?

They have different reasons for being brought in. Pence was needed because there was a need to convince the evangelical right that Trump was ok. The GOP was still very divided at that time. Once Trump got elected Pences job came to an end. Therefore he was never really brought up to be a successor.

Vance was brought in to provide an intellectual backbone to MAGA that Trump either cant or is not interested in doing. Therefore his job is still very relevant throughout the presidency. Which means he is a contender for successor. Will it be him? No but at this point its either him or Rubio with a possible Kushner dark horse.

Vance is there to take the blame, much like Pence.

Have you ever heard Kushner speak? He is extremely high pitched voice, and cannot form a complete thought. While trump also cannot form a complete thought, at least he tries to sell himself while doing that. Kushner sounds like a 12 year old speaking in public for the first time.

Rubio joins Vance and Pence in the list of people who have their careers destroyed for trump.

I guess the Republicans will nominate someone, but because no Republican can setup a campaign without being accused of treason, it will be like Harris' campaign, but far worse.

Reminder, Harris got 48.3% of the popular vote with almost no time to campaign. Does anyone think Kushner could get above 20% of the popular vote in similar circumstances?

Vance is the hire apparent, and that is if Trump leaves in 2028, I think it is 50/50 he doesn’t, he is too much of a narcissist to leave the spotlight, and he knows the MAGA lemmings, the GOP , plus entire right wing media will support him. Look what he did with three months planning in 2016 and now he has four years of scheming plus the power of the Government. Guarantee MaraLago has the plans ready

No Trump will ever run, the name has become toxic, and none of them has Donnie’s charisma

Good point on Pence, but I don’t see the “intellectual” bit on Vance. Vance was close to Jr and Carlson, and I think Trump saw Vance, who quickly turned from anti Trump to pro Trump, wasn’t going to burdened with ethics or morality, that he’d do whatever he was told

Kushner would never run from office, doesn’t have to, plus he’s knows he is not a politician

If we have to wait three more years to see who is even trying to get the Republicans nomination, then the next President will definitely be a Democrat. Seriously, three years from now, will be a month into the next term.

Anyone wanting the nomination should be putting out feelers now. They should be planning to announce 10 months from now, after the by-election. If they have to delay to keep trump from seeing them as traitors, it will be a disaster for Republicans.

I said "legal way." In theory, trump can illegally have a coup against the USA, and stay in power.

I question how much support trump would have for such a move. Obviously, you would support trump, but people like you only make up 20% of the population, or maybe even less. Certainly not enough to overthrow a 240 year old system.

It is interesting that you cannot come up with a legal way for Republicans to keep control over the White House.
