Does the left believe only the GOP promised jobs?

all i see on this forum and most of the media are questions regarding the GOP's promise of jobs. i never see the left question their own party and dear leader about the jobs they promised.

does this mean that the left believes only the gop can be held accountable and only the gop is supposed to keep its promise?

sure seems like it.

The left does not believe in anything except getting mommy government to tuck them in at night and read them their favorite bedtime stories. Their political philosophy is such a dismal failure world wide, they have nothing left but to complain about why tax cuts made over 10 and 8 years ago respectively are not having an effect on an economic situation which has nothing to do with tax cuts. As I said in another thread, their economic policies have completely collapsed into TAX and SPEND!! Of course, they have one other policy: government take over of every aspect of our lives EXCEPT who we fuck. As long as they can fuck whatever hole presents itself to them, (or what ever rod, depending on preference) they consider themselves "free". They don't WANT liberty. They want all their decisions (except who or what to fuck, of course) made for them so when things get totally screwed up, they don't have to take any responsibility for the situation. Real freedom - the freedom to make one's own decisions (except who or what to fuck, of course), and the RESPONSIBILITY that goes with real freedom scares them right out of their floral pattern bloomers.

hasn't obama embraced tax cuts? and why does the left not blame his tax cuts?

Because the GOP have promised that lower taxes for the rich meant more jobs since Bush took office in 2000...they've had more than a decade to prove their theory, but while the rich get richer, regular Americans are still waiting for those jobs they were promised.

so the promises made by obama and your democratic party leaders........................don't matter.

got it. as i said, you only hold the republicans responsible for their promises. since you never call out dems for not keeping their promises, i can only conclude that you believe dem promises are worthless.

The problem is, the promise of the Bush tax cuts was fulfilled. In 2003 unemployment peaked at 6.3%, having risen in response to the dot-com crash. UE then fell through 2004 and 2005 to stay at 5.2% or under (considered full employment by most economists) for over 3 years, not going back up until the banking crisis. The economy was stabled for those years, though subdued by the effects of the two-front war in the ME.

That is the lie of the liberals - they ignore what happened at the time the tax cuts were first enacted, and somehow expect cuts that occurred 10 and 8 years ago to have an effect NOW, on a completely different crisis. The fact is we have been at the current tax rates for over 8 years now. How the hell long do we have to be at a level of taxation before its simply the tax rates instead of "tax cuts"? Get over it, whiny little bitches. The CUTS happened a long time ago, and employment rose in response. Now we are in a totally different situation, a totally different crisis, with a totally different set of circumstances driving a lousy economy. And all the democrats and liberals can do about it is whine. It's because they have NOTHING left to offer. They were in full power, both houses of congress and the WH, for two years and accomplished exactly nothing. Unemployment was 7.7% when Obama took over the WH, and the democratic party gained huge majorities in both houses. It rose to a peak of 10.1%, then gradually subsided to average somewhat over 9.5 through 2010, and has been stuck above 9% most of 2011. In the process, the dems managed to pass the ugliest piece of unconstituonal shit legislation in all history through manipulations and outright open bribes OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

The dems have NOTHING left to offer but their age old mantra of class warfare and huge mommy government. They know that's all they have, it's all they have ever had, and they know it is failing across the world with the majority of countries based on their principles withdrawing to austerity measures to keep from total collapse. AND they know the general public, even though still soured on the republican party after Dubya's gross incompetence, aren't listening to their lies any more. The less people listen to their lies, the more shrill they become, and the more desperately they look to blame the entire thing on GQP's favorite bad guy.

Problem is, people are tired of blaming a guy who has not been in power for over 2 years. People want to look forward to recovery and renewed prosperity. All the libs are giving them is looking backward for more excuses.

Well then if the Bush tax cuts have "fulfilled their promise" then you must think it's time for their repeal.

If the situation is "totally different" as you claim, then when should we expect you to call for their repeal?

You should also think about hurling some of your invective at lying RightWing politicians who continue to tout the false claim that the Bush tax cuts will result in more jobs for average Americans.

funny coming from a guy who constantly bashes pubs for their promise of jobs, yet says nothing about the dems and obama's promises

sounds good to me

the gop 'plan' did not and has not worked every time it has been tried, but this does not ever seem to stop the gop from trotting out the same old failures with monotonous regularity

and neither have dem plans, does that stop them from trotting out the same old tired failures with monotonous regularity?

actually, if you check the statistics, the stimulus program did produce jobs, it was unfortunately not enough to sustain those jobs - there should have been a second stimulus program, but the reps would not vote for it

ps have you seen the polls regarding what voters are more interested in, deficit reduction or jobs - about 75% wanted jobs - guess what came in a distant second - the nation wants jobs and they want them now and see the reps as an obstacle to those jobs

if you pump hundreds of millions of dollars into the economy i sure hope it produces some jobs. but those jobs were not permanent and did not outpace the jobs lost. even you admit the stimulus did not succeed as you claim a second stimulus was needed. you can complain all you want about how it wasn't big enough, fact is, it was one of the largest stimulus' in american history and it didn't work. obama screwed up and had to admit he didn't have shovel ready jobs. it wouldn't have matter if had double that amount. if he and the dems can't create shovel ready jobs with half a trillion dollars to spend, then no amount will help them.

what killed the effect of the stimulus program was the jump in the cost of energy courtesy of the 'arab spring'

one of the things that you ignored

a stimulus bill is a program to jump start an economy and requires sufficient funds to do so - each job created spawns other jobs to support it

the rep 'plan' of tax cuts has been proven not to work, in fact can any significant number of jobs in this country be traced to them

right....it is always someone else's fault, obama is never wrong. we get it.

the stimulus was a failure. that is why you and your fellow followers want to give obama a second chance with a second stimulus.

yurt, you are getting as bad as dixie when it comes to ignoring facts

if a program is passed based on a set of assumptions (no arab spring) and fails due to unexpected developments you blithely say that obama can do no wrong

the stimulus program was working until the cost of energy skyrocketed and has us heading for a second recession - which the repugs hope for because they want obama to fail any way they can arrange

you don't see that you just made excuse after excuse for obama?

One of the bigger roadblocks to the economy is the unsure status of the federal income tax. When the fucktards in DC ended up putting a mere 2-year extension on the current tax laws, small to big businesses everywhere put a stop on any plans they have for expansion and hiring until they know what kinds of taxes they will be paying. No one wants to risk the expenses of hiring and training new people only to have a sudden increase in business expenses (ie: tax increase) cause them to have to let the new people go. When a business decides to expand its work force, it does so with the expectation of making more in than the additional labor costs them. But if they don't KNOW what one of their major business costs is going to be - how much will the feds be taking from the profit margins - then they don't know if they can afford to expand - especially in a shaky economy. So, unlike government, if expansion is risky because they cannot calculate a cost factor, they DON'T expand. No expansion, no jobs. If the dems would quit their infantile class warfare shit and simply nail down the tax rates (they can always raise them later in a new bill, instead of relying on a sunset clause like a bunch of fucking whiny wimps), it would take away one of the biggest barriers to economic expansion.

Democrats are too used to how big mommy government does things: expand because that is what they want to do, and fuck whether we can afford it or not. Businesses that do that don't remain in business very long.

you ignore record profits by corporations

if the repugs would get their heads out of their rectums or just install a audio/video link in their abdomens something other than a 'temporary' extension of several things could be done, but they are hoping for a win in 2012 so they can take an axe to as many taxes as they can and to hell with the nation

YOU ignore basic business common sense. Record profits or no, if the government is threatening to increase your operating costs, you do NOT choose that time to expand - ESPECIALLY in an unstable economy. Period.

The ones with their head up the ass (ie DONKEY) are the ones who, while in the middle of a fucking economic downturn, and indeed, right in the MIDDLE of the fucking economic crisis that put them in power, still can't get off their brain dead, age old, never fucking ending mantra of TAX AND SPEND!!!! TAX AND SPEND!!! You wonder why we are still fucked, THAT is why. No matter WHAT is going on around them, the ONLY plan the fucking jackass party can come up with is TAX AND SPEND!!! TAX AND SPEND!!!!.
